About this image

So I managed to use some SKSE functions to force a follower to smith for me. Using some unreleased functions to add every perk from the tree it gives the illusion of using someone else's abilities by temporarily adding them to yourself and assigning your smithing level to theirs and disabling skillgain.

She can also teach two skills (instead of the regular one) by swapping classes before opening the training menu using SKSE.

Smithing like this is pretty overpowered, but if I put some background around the follower, or some really complicated quest line it would be a little more feasible to use outside of cheating.

I hope I got this right because this reads awesome. Could i sandbox my follower with some of my weapons/ armor and have them hone them for me? Also, when giving the command to do so, that in turn would assign them my perks to accomplish the task?
Don't think I would would like the credit for someone else work

Not quite like that, you command the follower to smith for you, they'll walk up to the nearest forge and it'll add all smithing perks to you, set your smithing level to theirs, then open the crafting menu, when you finish it'll remove those perks and reset your smithing level. Essentially you're crafting with all smithing perks, using their smithing level, they don't automatically craft for you, it's more like borrowed skill.

I didn't script it to be generic though, so it'll only work with this custom follower, she's standalone but I haven't sought permission for all the assets I used yet.

I hope I understand. If I'm just starting out or if my level of say smithing is only 22 I could possibly turn-out a really deadly weapon early on. Is she capped or does she advance ahead of you.

Her smithing level is gained when you level so it is capped (meaning you cant refine an awful dagger to be better since her skill is still capped, but it is her focus skill), you do get all smithing perks so you could potentially craft anything assuming you had the materials.
