About this image

From the journal of Armil Kaleoth, my Altmer character, the Dwemer Researcher.

2nd of First Seed - Morning.

It's been long since I have taken the liberty to write in my journal. My last entry was at Ralbathar, which I just got out of last week. It proved far longer then I enticapated, and Katria and I were in there for a month. The shard was actually relitively easy to find, after a few Dwemer security locks, automotons and the bloody Falmer, but I wasn't in a rush to go past those ruins and took my time examining and writing down my findings.

Katria was very displeased of course, kept bugging me to hurry up. And she calls herself a Dwemer Researcher! True, I was a bit slow studying the dwemer, but to marvel at the greatness of the Dwemer is something all should take time for. Imagine what Calcelmo or the College would say when they see what I found! The Ralbathar deep market and the mines were like nothing I have even seen in my other expeditions!

The architecture was marvelous! The gyros and steam pumps made me believe that there may have been another ruin nearby, I may look in to it sometime later.

But enough of that, I have already sent my findings to the college and am on my way to Markarth to discuss them with Calcelmo. As for the Aetherium shards, I have 2 with me now and best they not find out about it until I have completed my findings on Aetherium in full.

4th of First Seed - Midday.

On my way to Markarth, I recalled Katria's journal mentioned an Aetherium Shard maybe in the north. I took a detour from the road to Markarth up north. As I was walking up to Bthardamz I saw some sickening figures, I was disgusted and decided to avoid it altogether. Heading further north I saw a bridge in between a river and sure as it is there was "Bthar-zel" or "Allied City" as Katria mentions in her journal.

Truth be told, I should have read her journals more carefully, I have missed many shards along the way here. I should have went east after Ralbathar, there was one more shard in Eastmarch that I would have easily got a hold of.

The ruins were still in good condition, as always with Dwarven architecture, and as I went up the beautifully built bridge, I studied their use. It was a gate to a city, but the city was gone.
As for the shard, it lay on a shrine of sorts, outside in the open no less! How long has it been there and why in the world am I the only one to find it after so long?!

This place intrigues me deeply.... I may need to return, but for now I shall keep the Aetherium and this sword as a reminder! Exquisite blade!

I shall be in Markarth for a few days before continuing my search, I may need to study these ruins mentioned in Katria's journal as well. The Aetherium shards are of great significance and I should have a head start , 3 Shards down, 2 more shall be mine!
