There is a tool in beta stage that does this process automatically.

    NPCVisualTransfer

Final stage of  your instructions defeated me but luckily NPCVT did the job.

Edit: it doesn't do exactly the same because for Arissa Aria I still need to have rk followers plugin active.

The tool was created long after I released Tofia.

    First word: WOW!
    Second word: How?

I've been trying to switch the appearance for the mod Arissa the wandering rogue with the face and hair of Reika (also from rxkx22) but to no avail, especially the hair, I heard you are using TES5Edit to accomplish such a feat, could you kindly enlighten us on how to do it? Many thanks!

      1) Open the Reika.esp (or whatever mod that NPC's face you want to use in TES5Edit.
      2) Deep copy the body armor from [ARMOR] section into a new esp. for example; Toccata's body armor is called ToccataBodyArmor
      3) Deep copy [ARMOR ADDON] section too, its required for the body armor. it should be called something like ToccataFeetAP,ToccataTorsoAP,ToccataHandsAP.
      4) + 5) Repeat with 2 more section [Head Part] and [Texture Set]. Knowing rxkx22, he should have named parts easily.
      6) Save that esp.
      7) Relaunch TES5Edit and select Arissa's esp and the new esp. (it should load Reika's esp as well.
Select that new esp, go to file header section, then on the right side, remove Reika.esp from its master list.
      9) Now select Arissa's esp, go to NPC section, deep copy Arissa into that new esp (the one that contain step 1-5 above)
      10) Save and reload, Make sure to load Reika's esp as well, because we need to use some of its value.
      11) go to the new esp, copy the id of the body armor. Select the body armor, right click and copy the ID. Make sure it doesnt get change.
      12) go to Arissa NPC, replace the body armor id with the id from (11)
      13) Scroll down a bit and at the head part, replace it with the equivalent headparts.
      14) + 15) you'll need to repeat with texture lighting, face part and tint layer section as well
NOTE: If you have matortheeternal's automate script tool (its available on nexus) step 11) - 15 is easy to do.
Lastly, copy Reika's facegen meshes and textures into Arissa's facegen folders. You'll have to rename them as well into Arissa's id too.

Many thanks for your advice! Can't wait to try it out!

Edit: Ok, now I've replaced everything in the Arissa's NPC value with Reika's value in TES5Edit, for the last step about copying the meshes and texture, do I need to rename Reika's file to overwrite Arissa's files, or I just copy it over retaining the same filename? Thanks alot!

You'll need to rename them to Arissa's.

Excuse me, will this also switch the bodies or is it limited to face? Things like height, weight, etc.?

What happens if one esp has different nonequivalent data in "Head Parts" like one has two hairline and other only has one and a mouthpart?

Honestly getting lost at step 11. Would the automate script help? Which one should I download?

Step 11) On the new esp, go to the armor section, there should be 1 armor that you copied over from step (2). Right click on that and select change formid. Copy the id then click cancel.
Step 12) go to the NPC you want, look for WNAM - Body Armor. Edit that and paste the ID you copied from step 11.. if you do right, it should have the name of the body armor.
Step 13) You'll want everything from the [headpart], [texture lighting][tint layer] section from the face you want to copy from. Also [face morph]. And I mean everything. If Toccata dont have face morph and Vilja do, you remove Vilja's face morph.

Forgot to add.. you'll need to make sure the weight is the same or neck gap.

      \textures\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceTint\Skyrim.esm

      \meshes\actors\character\FaceGenData\Facegeom\Skyrim.esm

You'll have to find the baseid of said npc and rename to that.

Hello Deane, after a long time I have finally tried your method to the end, and tell you what, it worked! I have changed the appearance of Valerica using the appearance of Seranaholic 1.1, now our beautiful Serana can proudly claim that she's a true natural beauty!

Many thanks! You have granted my long time wish to make Valerica a beauty!
