This is just a quick example of something I'm considering doing - I'm thinking of making a variation of Steel Plate for every hold and tossing it into leveled lists, to add some variation. Maybe toss some stuff onto a few random shields as well.. Normal is crap, and it's literally just the Riften banner tossed onto Bethesda's HD retex.

Perhaps you could take it one step forward and create something befitting Elite Warriors from these holds, maybe even the Housecarls.
