I know, fantasy design and blah-blah, but can you tell me how someone is supposed to wear this breastplate? It looks like one-piece (not counting the possibility of pulling rivets out), even more - helmet seems to be riveted to the breastplate aswell. Not realy practical imo. Aside from this, the work is remarkable.
If you knew how much i couldn't care less about practicability, I'm all about a stylized approach like in dark souls(you can check my past work). hell, just look at the helmet, i don't think someone head can actually fit in there, but i still used that shape. And no, having a dome like structure on an armor doesn't mean it has to be riveted there. Sometimes it's just there for aesthetics. http://img14.deviantart.net/8a66/i/2011/264/e/a/medieval_armor_by_spoonh-d4ah9hz.jpg https://img0.etsystatic.com/012/0/6664294/il_570xN.415724934_s0b9.jpg http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121023003254/elderscrolls/images/6/69/Steel_Plate_Helmet.png https://img0.etsystatic.com/012/0/6664294/il_570xN.415724934_s0b9.jpg If you expect some kind of authenticity from me, you've picked up the wrong person lol.
Authenticity is not a question - again, it's fantasy design, it doesn't has to be real, I'm aware of that. From practical side someone wearing this armor seems to wouldn't be able to raise an arm or turn head in different direction than front, not to mention that it looks like you have to born in that armor to wear it Still your design looks more practical then most "mail bikini armor" stuff on nexus. Gamewise question is about rigging. If helmet and brestplate are solid - the neck plates would look ugly stretched in some idle, if the're not - a lot of clipping (better than stretching if you ask me).
The helmet and breastplate aren't solid, they are separated. It's probably the angle of the shot and the shadow level that gives you that impression. http://static-5.nexusmods.com/15/images/110/3140055-1442305102.jpg
Zero this is great work, despite vault's attempts at putting it down ( i think he maybe jealous of those skills of yours ) you have yet again shown why you are one of the best, I find the design is actualy some what practical un my opinion, due to the way you have overlapped certain plates etc.
Does beard count? Actually I might try braid, sometime in the far future. Ah, now I see it! The rings at the end of braids are a perfect spot to attach hooks with a trophy, some decapitated head of a chosen warrior
