The title and the first triptych are my favorites, fascinating idea, almost like showing the beast inside of those beautiful warmaidens.

Thanks, y'all! Yep, going for a little cognitive dissonance there. Might be neat to do an entire set of counter-portraits one of these days...

Your triptych style is amazing. I especially love the images higher in the set in which the side clearly belong to each other!

Mushrooms,... Interesting. I heard they communicate through their roots system and that they house little people to keep them healthy and clean...
Wishing you a good trip in other words..
Very cool looking Set of images,.. Skyrim still looks beautifull

Oh, they totally do. The way mycorrhizae form the webbing that connects plant roots from all different species, along with non-mycorrhizal fungi in the area, is wild enough, but the way in which the mycorrhizae balance and redistribute everything from carbohydrates to hormones throughout the entire forest (or prairie, or whatever) to creatively and proactively maintain the health of the entire ecosystem bespeaks a shrewd and abiding intellect. Not too different from what our own gut flora do for the mammalian part of us, being as they form a less contiguous but no less communicative bridge to their cousins in the soil.

A mycology conference eh?That leaves it open for all kinds of puns or jokes or one liners. Gee I could say something along the lines of being kept in the dark and fed..but that is not nice and I am nice, to a point. Mushrooms, mmm, or maybe it is fungus, or how about those puffballs. Yep either way you slice em, put them in the pan with some butter and serve them up. Your LUTs are darn perty as is your images, but don't let that go to your head since you hit the hot files my friend even though we both know you deserve it for all of the hard work you have put into them and believe me it darn well shows. Have a great time talking fungus, watch out for those spores eh. I heard a tale of spores taking over some bodies I think

Ha, thanks! Oh man, puffballs are some good eatin'. A friend and I just cooked up a whole mess of boletes he literally stumbled upon the other day. Cooked up, just like you said, with plenty of butter and garlic and they tasted just like Peking duck. I'm definitely looking forward to the meals at this thing- mycologists eat the best of any scientific discipline.

Reminds me of the one about the polypore who went to a party because he was a fungi. But then he had to leave because there wasn't mushroom...

I just came back from my summer vacation and saw, you have released your LUT`s ... a real gift ... as soon s possible I will try them out ... you will see

You are going to a conference about mycorrhizae? This sounds very interesting, because they are a part of us and our beeing ... Have fun

      Thanks, and welcome back!

Aye, mycorrhizae are to plants as gut bacteria are to animals- none of us are truly standalone organisms, we're all a bunch of walking, talking ecosystems. It's especially exciting to see this mycology conference opening up its doors to folks doing all kinds of ecological research and practical work. Should be some neat cross-disciplinary connections coming out of this thing.

Congrats on Hot Files! I'm not sure you packed quite enough images in here to last a week, but I'll try to carry on.

Could always do like a page-a-day calendar and just look at one at a time (and then smash up your monitor, I guess). I bet whoever invented the page-a-day had some serious beef with trees.

I was totally going to write something along the lines of "get the heck out of here with your flawless screenshots," but since you're really getting the heck out of here it would be kinda rude. So... awesome work, keep it up!

Yeah, yeah- I'm gonna make like a banana/hockey player/baby/bakery truck/Tom/hat/exorcist and split/get the puck out of here/head out/haul buns/Cruise/go on ahead/get the hell out of here.
