About this image

Thanks for the comments to my previous post, I was too busy and psychologically tried to answer and I apologize for this.

The lockdown of Italy has started for more than a week, I don't know I'm losing the notion of time. In my country, people die more and more, we have largely broken through the two thousand deaths. So many victims do not surprise me much, it is now obvious, even if no one dares to mention it for political reasons, that the data provided by China on the epidemic have always been clearly false, the deaths there must be enormously more than reported. WHO has lied criminally about the real extent of the catastrophe. Hospitals in the regions of Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia Romagna are collapsing, protections such as masks are scarce, and health workers already tried by continuous work end up getting infected. My region, Piedmont still holds, although the contagion is doubling every day. I have chosen to quit my job and declare myself sick, continuing to go to work in a factory that produces luxury car tires, it no longer makes sense in this situation. My colleagues largely are unaware of how dangerous the virus is, they accept to work without adequate means of protection, exposing themselves to contagion, in the name of the profit that my company still hopes to make on their skin, collecting the crumbs before the inevitable end.
The virus acts as a sort of desiccant, kills society from the inside, makes social and economic relations impossible, transforms the neighbor into a probable source of contagion. A good part of the infected are asymptomatic, the virus survives for days on the surfaces, it can infect the soles of shoes, feces and urine. The only safe place, the only sanctuary is your home and you must do everything to defend it, either you learn to do it or you end up infected. Disinfecting becomes a job and this is only the beginning, difficult to imagine what it will be like in a few months.
Lockdown is the only way to reduce infections and allow hospitals to cope with the impact and keep a minimum of essential services active. It risks not working, because huge economic and material resources are needed, but only China actually has this potential. Due to the relocation of production, no nation today has the ability to produce enough protection, medicines, food to supply all the actors who have to maintain the services and therefore the whole society waiting for a miraculous vaccine.
Everyone must find the strength within himself, living the day, carrying on the doubt of being already infected, and even a hobby in this home captivity can be a help.

    Hey Fabrizio!
I hope you are fine according to the circumstances.
Yes, this virus has pretty much the whole world under control. Unfortunately, Italy was the most betrayed of the European countries. We can clearly feel the effects as well. Various hygiene items are very scarce or not at all anymore. My personal opinion of the virus is a little different from what the press reports. I can't say that here, there could be problems. But no matter, we will get this epidemic under control like the many others before. It's just sad that so many people have to die from it.
Stay healthy my friend, greetings from Thuringia in Germany.m0109.gif

Yes the virus has been very underestimated and a lot of precious time has been lost. The viralogy chief of my city first stated that it was similar to a normal flu but two days later he had completely changed his opinion, showing alarmed and surprised by his infectious ability. Germany can count on a number of beds and intensive care much higher than ours, but the problem is that the infection spreads so quickly and widely thanks to the asymptomatic diffusers, that if left free, the hospitals are saturated to such an extent to send the system to collapse. From then on, the sick no longer find assistance and mortality skyrockets. Unfortunately, the lack of PPE is a real problem both for the population and for health workers and unfortunately this applies to every nation apart from China, which has most of the factories.
The mortality and lethality in Germany is very low, I don't know why this is so, but we hope that the situation will remain this way. It could depend on seasonal temperatures, Northern Italy is located on the same temperate climate zone as Wuhan and pollution is also a lot here. If this is the case in northern Europe, things will get worse because the climate zone that currently affects Italy will move north. Southern Italy seems less affected, this could also depend on the higher temperatures of those regions. But they are theories and therefore only time can tell if the virus will weaken with the arrival of summer where temperature and humidity could slow it down.
I would not be so optimistic that I can control it, and unfortunately our globalist civilization has never faced a pandemic like this, we are not prepared and the human and economic costs will be devastating. But let's not give up hope.
Look after yourself and protect your loved ones. Thanks for the message dear friend.

At the moment, I'm fine, let's say that it was wise to abstain from work. In my company that employs more than a thousand people, cases begin to appear and the infection spreads rapidly. Better to stay home.
Thanks for the comment and your support.

It seems all we can do is take it one day at a time and try to fend off the anxiety. I have just today gotten a bit of a cold and cannot help but wonder if it's not something more. I am now going to stay in my home for the next two weeks and try to keep my employees safe and happy in these uncertain times.

The cold shouldn't be of concern, but if the fever goes up and you feel tired and short of breath, (it can also irritate the eyes) then maybe consult your doctor immediately. Clearly, every symptom related to the respiratory system immediately generates anxiety, I know it well, but we must think positively, naturally taking all measures to avoid contagion.
Your choice with your employees is very wise and you are right to take care of them. This brought you honor.
Humanity has faced epidemics and misfortunes many times already, we have had a much luckier life than others, we must accept what fate brings us, we use this time to improve ourselves and find a deeper meaning in our life. When all this nightmare ends, there will be plenty to do.
Thank you dear for the comment and only use paracetomol, it seems that other antipyretics and anti-inflammatories favor infection.

In The Netherland they/we are going to try to shield the sick and elderly (isolation) while the other group will get infected up to about 60 percent, from whom the suvivors will be immune and thus will create a shield which will help to fend of/the spreading of this disease. 'Immunity of the herd' they call it. I'm not an expert but I'll stay indoors for a (long) while.
Support and greetings from the Lowlands!

This strategy has been contested by several scientists and the doubt is that it will end up significantly increasing the loss of life. The issue of herd immunity may not work because this virus is somewhat malicious. It tends to change rather quickly and the healed often manifest the virus and become infectious for at least a few weeks. We are not quite sure that those who have recovered are completely immune and according to other strains generated by the mutations they could re-infect immunized subjects.
I believe that behind the immunity of flock as a strategy there is actually the cynical intention of keeping the nation's economic system functioning at the expense of the citizens. Of course, Lockdown can potentially save more lives but it devastates the economic system. The real question, however, is that all of this is brought into play because science is not that system of domination of nature that we believed to have developed.
Personally, I agree that it is better to try to avoid getting infected, especially after seeing here pictures of military trucks in a row that take away the coffins, because the crematory ovens are saturated. Hopefully the Netherlands will be spared from scenes like these.
I return support to your country, hoping that things will go much better than with us.

Italy is almost hitting 3000 deaths already... You did good to quit your job, in worst scenario you'll just need to find new one, but it's much better than losing life. Stay safe and good luck, good luck and best regards to your mother as well!

Yes here in Italy it is a massacre, especially in some regions where the saturation of intensive care places forces doctors to make choices about who to save. Unfortunately, the elderly and the sick pay the most. This is not openly said, but the increase in deaths also has this explanation although the younger ones also die.
As for me, there are decisions that need to be taken, if mine were a necessary job for my nation, I would continue to do it, but making luxury car tires is sacrificing for nothing. but I did well, just today it turned out that there is a second infected person in my hospital who is in the hospital. My family members have priority. Thanks for the good wishes to my mother, she is quite run down, but she has an incredible resilience.
Thank you very much for the comment, we hope that other countries will not have to endure this disaster.

Thanks for your comment, things are getting worse in Spain too, but you are moving well and decisively, this can save many lives. The lack of tourism is of course a ruin for us too, it will be a hard blow for our countries, but we will find the strength to start again. Those who caress death and survive often acquire vitality. Spain is a great and wonderful country, I am sure you will make it.
My best wishes for these dark days.

I glad to read from you and that you decided to go home for private isolation. I think, this is the best you can do.
Our community of gamers can be very glad about this home-hobby. So we have more time to play, to be creative when we are locked at home. A nice and positive side aspect
Here in Germany we have today more than 10 000 infected and I fear, we are only some days behind Italy and then the number of death people will increase rapidly ...

Stay save and I hope, to see your wonderful ladies more often here in the next time

Unfortunately I have some difficulty playing because I lack the necessary serenity. At first I couldn't sleep, but at least things are better now, my wife works from home thanks to smart working, and my choice to desert from work has perhaps saved me from a possible infection and makes me less anxious. My company is stopping production because it is becoming impossible to continue. unfortunately it is not easy to be calm, only today we have recorded almost 480 deaths in 24 hours.
Germany seems to be the nation with the best health system apparently, at least for you this is a consolation. However, if the virus is influenced by temperature, the near future could make it more active especially in northern Europe, it is a theory, I do not want to wish anyone badly of course. We hope that spring and then summer will reduce its activity.
I've always been a loner, and so it doesn't change much for me, but I'm also the one who has to leave the house to buy food, to visit my poor elderly mother. In short, I have a lot to do. I hope I don't get infected. Going out of necessity often puts me in touch with reality and how things are getting worse.
At least I will have time to go back to do some shots even if I have to put my installation of Skyrim in full overload of mods.
I hope that Germany is spared somehow by this scourge, lethality seems much lower for you and the greater availability of places in hospitals should reduce the impact. You are a strong and powerful nation, you are a panzer, you will make it. For us it is ruin, we hope to find, as in the past, the strength to recover from this tragedy.
Thank you very much for your comments deae friend.

Thank you for the update Fabrizio and that you are so far still with us! I have been reading the new and Italy really has been hard hit. A lesson to the rest of the world that I think is learning from it. The US has been really slow to get going but they are really shutting down now - all over places have been closed if not vital services. Our campus is closed and only essential staff are working on site (of which I am one). I expect it will be some time before the peak here is reached (maybe May from what I heard) after which things may hopefully start to return to normal.

I am not as concerned about the virus next year. The flu, and its many variations, is already here as are many other viruses. Those who recover will be okay and hopefully with time a vaccine will be made. While it seems to be a very high price to pay (the lock downs) hopefully it will pay off in the end by helping hospitals to cope.

Can only take things day by day and and do what one can to get through it. Wishing you strength in your trial dear friend.

Well let's say that in a way I was prepared for this situation as far as it can be. I had predicted by looking at Chinese events that all of this would happen, although I hoped things would turn out differently. In Italy the lockdown has been done not perfectly, there are a lot of contradictions in the rules, but soon this will become more stringent, as for example in Spain. However, I am forced to leave the house both to go shopping for supplies, and to make a daily visit to my mother who is elderly, comorbid and needs help.
As for the peak, few real predictions can be made, but above all being a pandemic the virus can always return coming from a foreign country. The bad news concerns the fact that the so-called healed, sometimes they are not, but must be quarantined for at least 15 days because sometimes they return infectious ... The lockdown is the only way to counteract the infection, but the problem is that there are always idiots who behave irresponsibly, or worse infected in quarantine who leave the house infecting others, also there are many desperate and homeless, who have no refuge. There are a lot of problems and flaws that still allow the virus to spread, albeit in a reduced way. We are also not talking about the economic collapse. In short, sometimes I would like some good news ...
But at least I seem to have made the right choice, staying home from work (which at the moment has no social utility) allows me at least to take care of my family and protect it. I can't do anything else. My company is in fact stopping production because workers are getting sick.
it's hell, but we hope to get out of it, my friend.

Yes, I read about it, after the Italian turn in applying the lockdown, most nations are applying more or less the same method borrowed from China. Unfortunately it will not be a situation that will be resolved within a few weeks, but it is likely that it will continue at least until the summer, at least as regards Italy. Some theories assert that the virus weakens with high temperatures, and to support this opinion is the fact that its greatest activity is linked to the temperate belt which currently have an average temperature of 8-10 degrees centigrade. Unfortunately if this is the case, other regions such as northern Europe will see a significant increase in infections and deaths as the range of activities is destined to move north. The risk of the virus becoming endemic and therefore scourging us for years is not to be excluded, therefore a vaccine is absolutely necessary.
Stay at home and disinfect everything that enters the house. If we are lucky and careful, perhaps we may be able to avoid contagion.
Thanks for the commets dear friend. :)
