About this image

D&D Campaign - World of Urun - The Underdark - Aquoth Vendur's Palace
D&D Campaign Character - Princess Aquoth Vendur, Grand Priestess and Agent of Lolth

VERY IMPORTANT: This music by Peter Gundry sets up the entire ambiance for the image/narrative. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYktkA4KTYM

With the candles lit and the incantations of protection recited, Princess and Grand Priestess of Lolth, Aquoth Vendur, lies in waiting for her eldest daughter to arrive at her prayer- chamber. She knows that her daughter, a revered and accomplished warrior-priestess in her own right, will be arriving at any moment.  Without any sign of remorse and with razor-sharp focus, Aquoth prepares herself mentally, not to share words with her daughter, but to slay her unsuspecting child instead. The Drow of the Underdark know all too well that their leader, their princess, will do anything and everything to keep and maintain her stranglehold of power over their domain, regardless of the cost.

Princess Aquoth Vendur, shares a thought:

"I did not attain the esteemed rank of Grand Priestess and Agent of Lolth through flattery and inaction. Just as any other priestess of Lolth, I gained my status through sacrifice. With that said, no other priestess is willing to make the necessary sacrifices that I have made in order to wield and maintain such power."

Princess Aquoth Vendur, Grand Priestess and Agent of Lolth

**Background information about Grand Priestess Aquoth Vendur**

Princess Aquoth Vendur is by far the most powerful priestess of Lolth in all of Urun and has been for hundreds of years. Her rule over her domain is unforgiving, merciless, and absolute. Aquoth is constantly at war with other powerful Drow royalty and factions who seek to usurp her rule and claim her domain and all that it possesses for themselves. Aquoth brutally and ruthlessly eliminates any powerful Drow that she thinks may pose a future threat to her reign as Princess or Grand Priestess, regardless of whether they are family, loyal servant, or sworn enemy.

It's been years (Oblivion, early Skyrim) since I've posted anything about the Drow Grand Priestess, Aquoth Vendur. I thought it was about time to make another post featuring this ruthless character. Thank you very much for the visit!

Deeply unsettling mood music - you're spot on about how well it sets the stage for one who values her own power over her child's existence. Breathtaking work on this, dear friend!

A very nice image of a Grand Priestess, I like a view such as this. It is food for thought as much as the words. She should act with care, in my opinion Her daughter's skill and awareness may be enough to turn a Sacrifice into a Battle.  Princess Aquoth Vendur might become victim to her own need for power.

Perfectly chosen music for this abhorrent character's intentions and a very wonderful image steeped in the evil which this woman is about to engage.

I've wondered on occasion at actually how difficult it can be to be entirely evil and I'm of the opinion that it must damned hard work.

And I actually had to look up "drow"  to find out what it meant as D& is something that happened to the younger generation in my case

Hauntingly morbid music quite suitable for the gorgeous dark scene.
    Nicely done, Bob.

Excellent image Bob. I am always intrigued by how evil the Drow are. Murder is a highly regarded art if you can do it without leaving any evidence. Knowing who killed who is of no importance. Chaos reigns. Of course, it's exactly why they will never be dominant, they are too busy killing each other.

Awesome narrative and image! The Drow are so ruthless... but this is how they live for generations. There is no place for anyone kind hearted in their society where mothers can easily sacrifice their own children. However I always wondered of how they did not eradicate each other completely with their fights for power.

Absolutely love the lore part. The way you use TES as a medium for DnD characters is fascinating.
