About this image

Just a little status update for you.
Its not finished yet but going way better than expected.
The Whiterun ring was the one i dreaded the most because i had absolutely zero idea how it should look like.
But somehow i came up with a design that im quite satisfied with.
Next up: some minor detailing, maybe i'll try out some ornaments for the top/bottom ring part and then move to te low poly part.

Suggestions are welcome

I tend to think these thingies must hold something:

My first thought, first idea was to insert a semi-transparent opal plaque in there:

But as soon as I saw how it looks in Ps, I turned the idea down. The horse silhouette in these circumstances loose its details and significance.

So, either horse silhouette or just an opal plaque:

The way how your ring looks, it looks very hi-tech and modern, and very scythian at the same time which is a good thing to me.
Yet, like I said, probably it looks like some detail is missing... That was probably your intention to go without a singe gem, but... probably you may want to add one as... say a rubie eye or a nostril... I know it's stupid, but... yeah... I don't know what else to suggest.

Now that is some feedback you don't see everyday.
Went all the way with picture explanations and, i like it !

And yes you are right these Anchors(or how you call it) on the bezel are there because i initially thought i'd put some sort of stone there.
Then the Horse is a seperate stone that gets embedded into the first one.
This leaves something like an opal out of the question. Because the ring itself would be shiny/busy on the eye and the horse-gem aswell.
If you'd went along and put yet another busy piece like an opal in, it would be too much. Your eyes need some contrast to catch the important shapes.

I eventually found out that it also looks good without a stone and some ornaments.

You know what? There is some magically dramatic energy and dynamic in these anchors being holding the viewer's attention instead of holding a gemstone. That's how I see it now.

Yet I am still excited to keep my imaginary experiments with your ring, as I imagine for example breaking down the steel monopoly with an ivory carved horse sihlouette embedded into the steel bazel.

That's not my suggestion to you, rather an imagination of mine. I am sure you were working through quite a few variants. Now it's my turn to do that.

Well how would one go on about overthrowing the steel monopoly anyway?
I reckon this is quite the task for a simple ring hammered into shape by some local whiterun blacksmith. A blacksmith who's livelihood propably depends on said steel market.
And what about the power-vaccum that emerges if the steel-economy plummets?
No, No, No we have to think about something different.
So what do these Anchors do in the meantime?
Their best, simple as that xD
