About this image

You can say whatever you want about Bethesda and Todd Howard. You can talk about their greed, about the fact that they have been trying to sell the same skyrim for many years. You can talk about a fail with Fallout76 and so on. But you know what, Bethesda and Todd Howard never harassed modders or sued or blocked mod sites. On the contrary, Bethesda collaborated with modders. What Rockstar is doing now is simply disgusting. Block sites with mods and sue modders, telling them that this is a copyright infringement. You don't give a damn about copyrights, you just don't want people to see that mod games look better than your so-called 'remasters'. Do you think your fans are so dumb that they will eat this? No, they won't. I am many years old and once upon a time I made mods for GTA 4. Yesterday my mod was blocked. I think this is the final sunset of Rockstar Studios.

Unfortunately, the law is on Rockstar's side regarding the modding of their games.  They hold the rights to the GTA franchise & yes, copyright laws give Rockstar the right to issue DMCA take-down notices to modders/sites under threat of lawsuits.  Square Enix is another dev that is firmly against the modding of their games & has blocked/banned users for modding their games.

As far as Bethesda/Todd Howard are concerned, the greed factor is quite obvious.  Skyrim is a decade old & yet Bethesda has milked it via multiple re-releases of the same game WITH THE SAME BUGS which have been present since launch on 11/11/11.  Creation Club has only added fuel to the fire when it comes to the greed argument while also breaking SKSE64 each time new Creation Club content is added to the game...  Bethesda claims to listen to its fans/the modders but the same bugs being present in each re-release of Skyrim while introducing new bugs to the game via the addition of Creation Club/DLCs suggests otherwise...

Skyrim Anniversary Edition has introduced a slew of new bugs on top of the decade-old bugs that have never been fixed.  One of the most serious bugs plaguing SAE at present is the bricking of the game on an existing game save.  Bethesda is aware of this issue but as of now, there's no ETA for a fix.  Bethesda can't say they don't know about all the BUGS in their games seeing as how the Unofficial Patch fixes literally THOUSANDS OF BUGS in the base game/the DLCs.  The addition of Creation Club content has added even more bugs to the game & has made it to where SAE cannot be played on an existing game save no thanks to the new compiler Micro$oft insisted upon just so Xbox users could have their precious "achievements".  While Bethesda/Todd Howard may embrace the modding scene, at the same time they utterly REFUSE to fix the slew of bugs present in their games...  Heck, Bethesda never fixed the infamous C++ Runtime Error R6025 - Pure Virtual Function Call bug present in Skyrim LE that is caused by the Impatience of a Saint quest in the Dawnguard DLC.  This issue was thankfully addressed in SSE but was never fixed in Skyrim LE DESPITE the numerous support tickets submitted to Bethesda Support concerning the error.  I submitted a support ticket reporting the bug but again, it was NEVER FIXED for the Skyrim LE version of the game...

Yes, it's all true. Do you want them to fix the bugs?) Do you want the same people who were so lazy that they could not make different armor for the guards and the stormcloaks, so that they would fix something?) My God, I did it in 5 minutes. And a huge studio with a huge budget couldn't do it?) Are these people going to fix something? And why?) They can install a couple of mods in the same game and sell it again.Yes, there are bugs that can be fixed if really try. But there are bugs that simply cannot be fixed, because they are related to the game engine. There's nothing you can do about it, you'll fix one thing, another will break, you'll fix the second, the third will break, and so on. An outdated engine with outdated bugs.

Bethesda could fix all the bugs if they really wanted to.  If Bethesda truly CARED about a QUALITY PRODUCT, they would go back & fix all the bugs.  Bethesda has a little thing called the SOURCE CODE for their games.  If the source code were provided to modders like the Unofficial Patch Project Team &/or the SKSE Team, most, if not all of the game engine bugs could be fixed.  SSE Engine Fixes already addresses several game engine bugs with various fixes.  The sad fact is, they don't care.  All they care about are PROFITS.  Executives/shareholders make off like bandits in the night while consumers get the shaft.  That's the way it's always worked.  Don't like it?  Vote with one's wallet & feel free not to purchase any future releases from the likes of Bethesda/CD Projekt Red/Rockstar Studios/Take-Two Interactive.  It's really that simple.  In the end, these companies will continue to make their billions while executives/shareholders will continue to make off like bandits in the night.  It's an unfortunate side-effect of the GLOBAL CAPITALIST SOCIETY we now find ourselves in.  The slow monopolization of various industries, which includes the gaming industry, has led to the slow decay of overall quality of various products/services.  It's being done BY DESIGN whether we like it or not.  This wouldn't be such an issue if governments would reign in these out of control monopolies via the strict enforcement of various antitrust laws that have been on the books since at least the 19th century...

Of course, Bethesda can fix everything, who will argue with that) If Bethesda wants to) But who wants to? As I said, those people who were too lazy to make two different armors for two groups of characters?) And this is at the release of the game. And as I said, the game engine needs to be changed, this is the only way to fix everything completely. But then new problems will appear that will also need to be fixed, but this is a completely different story)
