Thanks for working on this. This is one of the main annoyances with skyrim graphics, who otherwise are very beautiful with various mods, of how you get bare distant land.
Thank you all for the comments. I reduced the .nif's polygon-count by about 85 % and enabled them as LOD-Objects. So it does not change anything about uGridsToLoad if you meant this - and the performance hit should be pretty low (atm. I can't really say anything about the performance because I'm running it on an ATI 4770 and the final object-count will increase a lot).
