It took a really long time to create this shot. Especially on setting the angle and lighting. But the end result was definitely worth it! Initially I had an idea to make a set with a little story about Svart Ormr and his wife Hestla... But as a result, I decided to limit myself to one shot to which I will pay more attention than to any set. Moreover, as far as I understand, only one shot from each author will participate in the final compilation. I also had an idea to do something interesting with my favorite character Lamia. But this year I don't want to focus on she in my sets.
I'm glad you liked this portrait!
"I saw in the comments that you wanted to use the sharp teeths, and there is this mod on SE that do it, if you are interested in test..." (c) Wow! This is exactly what I have been looking for for so many months! Thank you so much! Apparently, it was this model of teeth that Pandorable used to create Celyria. Since Lamashtu is a companion in my game, I can make these changes to her appearance without affecting other NPCs or characters.
High poly teeth are a really cool invention for miniature work like this! But you already know my negative attitude towards High Poly Head. It didn't go anywhere! I made absolutely all the heads of my current heroes in Racemenu Sculpting. I have all the sliders in Racemenu set to 0 and 1. With HPH, there is no way to do such subtle manipulations, pulling each polygon line to another to create such unique faces as, for example, my Dremora hero. I do not argue, HPH greatly simplifies the work, but nevertheless, the faces do not look so expressive and unique. I have tried many times to work with HPH. But since I have mastered Sculpting well, I definitely won’t refuse it for the sake of banal smoothing. But this is solely my point of view, which I in no way want to impose or say that it is better or worse. Moreover, working in Sculpting really requires a lot of time (which not everyone has) and, of course, skills.
And yes, High Poly Head have its ups and downs, and totally understand your view of it I was very reluctant before changing it myself, because I installed EFM wrong and porting existing characters was very bad at first, very time consuming and boring. Your characters have a great sculpt and there's no need to change, honestly. Mine had errors that I could no longer correct in the low-poly head, so due to dissatisfaction I changed it and managed to correct what was necessary. Like any and all mods, in reality, the High Poly Head is a user's choice for their own convenience and need. I find it annoying when some people try to impose mods to others as if they were Jehovah's Witnesses preaching at the door at seven in the morning. Suggesting mods that work for us is natural, but when it becomes an imposition, as you said, it's uncomfortable and makes you even less willing to do what people are suggesting HAHA
I also use Enhanced Female Head Mesh to increase the polygons of the head model. It's much better than vanilla and not as overkill as HPH. Some kind of middle ground between them. For comfortable and working in Sculpting. So far, I'm completely satisfied with it. But if I knew how to create such mods, I would make a version so that smoothing from HPH is more for certain facial details and not general. For example: the tip of the nose, chin, ears... Actually, everything that is edited to the very minimum and does not require such miniature actions. This would simplify the task and the heads would retain unique facial features.
"I find it annoying when some people try to impose mods to others as if they were Jehovah's Witnesses preaching at the door at seven in the morning..." (c) Exactly! This makes me very angry too! Everyone has different views and tastes! It's cool when you see something different from the authors, and not just games that are collected like a blueprint, as especially on the SE side at the present time! Whether it's the same enb, textures, skins, etc... After all, so many interesting and unique mods have been made for Skyrim. Why focus on one thing?!
I think the presets are for those just learning or really can't create a character from scratch, but they should be used as a starting point and not how they are downloaded. There is a lot of laziness and lack of common sense in the community. Those days I needed to laugh, because I saw an user that is known by doing always the same character posting something and being criticized, and another one (that also doesn't have much differences between the chars) saying that is common for an author do overdo the same face all the time. I don't get involved in these quarrels, I just thought "speak for yourselves" Mine are all unique!
In my opinion, this is quite fair... Hahah... I remember that at one time I also wrote to PM Pandorable with a request to share the Eola preset with me. So that I can act out different storylines for her in my role-playing game. (including for convenience and minor cosmetic edits) But as a result, I found a way to completely copy the appearance of the NPC I liked. It turned out to be much easier than I thought. Even without the use of specific mods.
PS. But what I am very indignant at is when some outright abomination here gains a lot of endorisments and this unfair assessment and promotion of the worst to the tops, which are occupied by completely untalented people! I really want people to call a spade a spade and have their own opinion, evaluate the work on merit and not just turn on the herd instinct, looking only at the name of the author who published this or that work! Everything should be on merit and effort! I think this is right and honest, giving a certain excitement to authors who want to improve their skills, whether in the field of virtual photography or modding! Authors should try to be better and not be content with just false praises, cherishing their inflated empty ego! And what is happening in the minds of people at the present time is really something sick. And all this acquires some serious stage of exacerbation. I already made this conclusion a long time ago. But I'm seeing it day by day! It's not even just here! In today's world, in general, something unhealthy happens to people!
But must try to remain Human despite the fact that we live in the world of some animals!
PS. I hope I understood correctly about one shot for the final compilation?
I had a lot of ideas with different concepts. I wanted to focus on them:
Haha... But Lamashtu said No and took all the attention to herself! ^^
PS. Haha... A dark filter is definitely not the best choice for evening lighting. But luckily, in vanilla Skyrim there is such a wonderful invention as the Magelight spell, thanks to which you can set the correct light even in locations with very poor light. I can't even imagine how I would have taken pictures without it. ))
Well... Black eyes are really interesting in my opinion... I got the idea with them under the impression of vampires from the movies: "30 Days of Night" and "30 Days Night: Dark Days". Aside from the black eyes, I also like the idea of a row of sharp teeth rather than the canonical vampire fangs. But I can't do it in game yet due to the lack of such features in Racemenu Sculpting.
The thorns are just part of the background. Without any subtext or hidden meaning. ^^
