Well, like most my warrior characters she did it (to be honest I was afraid Aela would stay there forever waiting if I didn't). She then finished the Companion quests, cured the brothers, found the totems and then cured herself.
I still wish there was a way to join the Silver Hand and wipe out the Companions like you can the Dark Brotherhood. Oh well.
I swear my next warrior to just get to this point and finally just say no. He/she will stay in the Companions, buy wolf armor, etc. and just move on to something else. It's my anal sense of completion that keeps getting me.
