Maybe you are like me, you stumble about the Witcher 2 Shield Pack and are happy that you finally found a old and worn looking shield. Seconds later you realize that the wood of this shield is shiny as s**t! You can live with that, or you install Gimp and teach yourself some very basic gimp-skills with the help of the internet. I did go for the second choice. This is my first "Retexture"-Mod, it is more a eraser-mod. I have only the knowledge of three hours Gimp. The method I did use is rather brutal, but it looks like it did get the job done.
It works for me, I hope it works for you, too.
You need the original mod and replace the original texture.
