About this mod

Overhauls the Fists of Steel perk so that increases to armor (except from tempering) affect the unarmed damage granted by the perk.

Permissions and credits
The Fists of Steel perk looks very promising at first glance, but turns out to be rather disappointing once you learn that it only adds the gloves base armor rating. This mod addresses that.

The unarmed damage is now only added while in combat for technical reasons. An abilities magnitude is only checked on gaining the ability and then snapshots. Since with this mod increases to Armor affect the magnitude it is required for the ability to be removed and reapplied to update for the new values. I found that the best way for this was to only apply it while in combat. This means that once you enter combat the unarmed damage you get by the perk gets snapshot until the fight ends. Meaning any Heavy Armor perks or foritfy Heavy Armor potions acquired while in combat will have no effect until the next fight.
The unarmed damage granted by the perk is increased by the armor increases of the Heavy Armor skill level as well as the the Juggernaut, Well Fitted and Matching Set perks. It is not increased by tempering the gauntlets, though (because I didn't figure out a way how to check for that). If you are using Dwarven Gauntlets it is also increased by the Ancient Knowledge ability.
At level 100 Heavy Armor with all perks and Daedric Gauntlets the perk now grants about 78 unarmed damage. One handed weapons still outscale unarmed damage when investing into Enchanting or Alchemy, but this should bring unarmed at least on a playable level.

If you use Dawnguard or Dragonborn it's highly recommended you use USLEEP, because gloves added by those don't work with the perk otherwise (not that you should ever play the game without USLEEP).
