About this mod

― Ray Bradbury, The Fog Horn
Atop the Solitude lighthouse sits a magnificent horn, cut from the head of an ancient dragon, that bellows with a long and mournful sound. The keepers blow this horn when heavy fog rolls in, to warn ships off the deadly rocks. But from the depths of the sea has come an answering call, a deep and lonely bellow from an age long forgotten...

This mod, based off of the original story "The Fog Horn" by Ray Bradbury (and the subsequent film, The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms) adds a sea monster to the Sea of Ghosts in the waters of the Karth Inlet. The beast can only be summoned by the call of the Fog Horn, a huge horn used at the Solitude Lighthouse to warn passing ships in heavy fog. Once awakened, the Beast will hunt the player relentlessly until it is killed. It is a small quest and boss fight that rewards the player with some great loot that can be used to craft a whole suite of weapons and armor.

-A short quest that pits the player against a sea monster.
-Heavy, Light, and Mage armor made from the beast's remains with deadly poison enchantments.
-Weapons made from the beast's bones with deadly poison enchantments.
-The ability to summon your own Beast to fight for you.

-This mod is an homage to one of the original giant monster stories and movies.
-Everything is poison-themed, as a major plot point in the original film is that the Beast brings with it a deadly ancient plague.
-The weapons and armor are a sort of mash-up of a number of popular dragonbone variations. I tried to make them as unique as possible, but they're nothing revolutionary.
-I considered giving the player the option to NOT murder the Beast, but I think a major element of the character is his loneliness and tragic death. You're supposed to feel bad about killing him!
-This mod does NOT require the original Here There Be Monsters mod; this one is completely independent.

-For some reason, when the Beast spawns far out to sea, he will T-Pose awkwardly until he gets close enough to the player. I'm pretty sure this is an issue with all dragons, but I'm not really sure how to fix it.
-Even though the Fog Horn is not an object you can pick up, it IS affected by physics. That means it is possible to knock it off the ledge and loose it. The quest marker will point at it, so you should still be able to find it.
