Have you ever looked in your inventory only to see a small, but persistent stack of corundum ingots that you have no idea what to do with (but still refuse to sell or throw out crafting materials on sheer principle)? Logically an ingot equals 2 ore (for the most part, at least) and so it should be possible to turn these unwanted blocks of metal into the much more useful steel ingots by using only a bit of iron. Sadly, that has not been the case. Until now.
