In the vanilla Dragonborn the Ash Guardians will be deleted after you leave the cell and return to the area you summoned them. Also, an additional Heart Stone will be consumed.
This little patch fixes this problem.
Guardians will stay in place and no stones will be removed from your inventory.

This bug was fixed in the Unofficial Dragonborn Patch v2.0.5.
Install only if you don't use Unofficial patches, otherwise I simply recommend to update UDP
Let me describe you the issue:
1) You summon the Ash Guardian (Heart stone is removed)
2) Leave the area (for example, enter some internal cell)
3) Return to the area when you summoned the Ash Guardian.
4) You will see the "Heart Stone removed" message (WTF? Another one?!!!) and find out that the Guardian disappeared.
This little patch fixes this problem.
The Guardian will guard the place forever (until you summon another one) and no extra stones will be removed from your inventory for no reason.
