Tired to have that ugly, messy and useless room behind the main hall of your Windstad residence? I feel so, too: that room looks like an horrible mixture between a carpenter laboratory, a warehouse and a cluttered dining room. You just want to close your eyes when you have to go to enjoy your great trophy room or when you need to take something from your well-organized storage room.
If so, you can try this mod.
REQUIREMENTS
* Skyrim, last official patch
* Hearthfire
WHAT IS NEW?
This mod alters the furnishings of the Windstad backroom in a light but fundamental way: some furnishing are just left untouched, but other things are replaced with more useful ones.
Now you get the following items:
2 Mannequins
4 Weapon racks
A Bookshelf with place for 44 books
A planter with a selection of tiny plants
Rearranged things on the existing shelves and tables
This mod add also the following things to other parts of the Main Hall:
*one more hanging animal ring near the alchemy table and a pheasant on the existing one;
*two bird eggs on the washbasin close to the alchemy table;
*one potato and two cabbages in the baskets close to the door leading to the entryway;
*one noble chair in the empty place left by the workbench on the firs floor;
*one noble night table near the entrance of the bedroom on the first floor;
*the two child beds on the first floor are now in the noble version (used ctrl+F in CK, so they keep the vanilla triggers).
INSTALLATION
Be sure to have built your Main Hall and have it full furnished! Not to have built the wings doesn't matter, but you must have furnished the Main Hall and removed the workbenches.
* Stay away from Windstad Manor interior before installing;
* Make a strong back-up save (this is always true before trying new mods);
* Drag and drop the .ESP file into Skyrim's Data folder, or let it manage by your Mod Manager, if you have any.
UNINSTALLATION
* Discouraged, as for almost every similar mod. Anyway, stay away from Windstad Manor interior before uninstalling;
* Delete the .ESP file in Skyrim's Data folder, or let it manage by your Mod Manager, if you have any. You need to re-build the missing furnitures.
I strongly suggest you to use ModOrganizer, so you can easily manage as many character as you want, activating and de-activating this (and similar) mod depending on your characters' level.
COMPATIBILITY
This mod is incompatible only with any mod that alters the same part of the Windstad Manor interior.
Windstad Manor - Master Bedroom Suite: seems to be compatible.
All Homes Remodeled: not compatible.
TES5Edit cleaned.
FAQ
Q: Any performance loss?
A: No, it shouldn't. There are no new textures or items, just vanilla ones sorted and arranged to build the estate.
Q: Do you plan to add this *random* furniture/showcase/other?
A: Depends. I'm open to any suggestion, but I will address only ideas that make sense and are suitable for the ratio of this mod. And, of course, if I'm able to address them! Anyway, I will wait for more than one lone idea, before updating.
