Wot It Does It will replace the main Skyrim theme played at the main menu screen with a classical guitar arrangement of Far Horizons, performed by the highly talented Harry Murrell. No particular reason for picking this specific track, it's just always been my favorite song from the soundtrack.
Wot's Wrong With It There are a few issues I hope to work out still. Skyrim seems to turn the volume of the track way down in the engine, which means the song plays very quietly. I have done my best to amplify it, but it has come at a slight quality cost, and I'm working on trying to improve that. If you know a way to amplify the track without the loss of quality, or another way around the Skyrim engine muffling it, please let me know!
But for now, just be warned, it is still a tad quiet and the quality may be slightly lowered.
Nexus user Talwick has kindly volunteered to enhance the track for my talentless behind, and it sounds great now! Kudos to Talwick!
(So this is basically Talwick's mod now, not mine. He did the work of enhancing the track, all I did was convert it to .WXM format and put together the folder structure.)
Installing The Thingy Install with NMM or MO, or just copy the folder structure into Skyrim/Data. Nothing too special.
Who To Credit (Hint: not me!) Original song credit to the wonderful Jeremy Soule! Arrangement and performance by the awesome Harry Murrell! Volume and quality enhanced by Nexus user Talwick! All I did was convert it to the format Skyrim uses and put together the folder structure, so don't endorse for my sake, do it for the talented fellas above!
Also, check out Harry's channel on Youtube, he's done a number of classical guitar arrangements of Skyrim tracks, along with plenty of others!
