Mod that allows player to command or add an npc as follower via use of the Bend Will shout added by the Dragonborn DLC. Does not affect dragons: For that, I would recommend rongphale's Command Dragon mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31697

When I first played through the Dragonborn DLC, I absolutely loved it and thought (and still think) that it was by far the best part of Skyrim. However, it always bugged me how, despite the fact that most of the main quest centers around it, the Bend Will shout always felt so weak. This was a shout that was meant to subjugate even a dragon to your will, yet all it did in the end was have a dragon or human fight on your side for a measly 30 seconds, and add what I think is quite possibly the most pitiful excuse for a dragon riding mechanic the devs could have come up with. Well, I found a mod to fix the dragons and dragon riding in the form of rongphale's Command Dragon Mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31697. However, there was nothing to allow you to order around the humans in your game. Well, no more! I had a mild annoyance and no experience modding, and dammit, I was going to make the game slightly less annoying. So a couple of hours of getting the Creation Kit to behave and research later, I had this: The Bend Will Overhaul.
What does It do? At it's core, this mod does four things: Make the bend will effect duration infinite, add any NPC'S hit with level 2 or above of the bend will shout as Allies, add them as Potential Followers, and remove them from all previous factions. For those who don't know, adding an npc as an ally allows the player to order them by simply holding the use key while their cross hair is hovering over them. This, in my opinion, makes use of the mod much smoother, as it allows you to turn an npc in the middle of combat and start giving them orders immediately, rather than having to wait for combat to end. Removing all factions may seems like a strange choice, but it serves the dual purpose of allowing the player to add npcs from hostile factions as followers, and allowing the player to order npcs to attack their old allies i.e. allowing the player to order a town guard to attack citizens. However, this functionality is likely to break some quests, so try to avoid hitting any quest npcs with the shout if you want to continue the quest.
Requirements The latest version of Original Skyrim, and the Dragonborn DLC.
Installation Download the mod, and drag and drop Bend Will Overhaul.esp into your Skyrim/Data Folder. Open your Skyrim launcher, hit data files, and make sure the box beside Bend Will Overhaul.esp is ticked.
Can I Re-upload somewhere else, port to Special Edition, etc. ? So long as you credit me and link to this page, you can do whatever the hell you want with this mod.
