About this video

Version 1.4 of Fare Thee Well - Spouses and Children Give Blessings is in the works!
It includes support for some requested voice types, and also is host to a brand new feature--one that requires a ton of new splices.

The mechanics of how the feature works have greatly expanded since the video's creation, but this will give you a rough idea of what to expect.

Even though the amount of splicing I have yet to do is immense, I'm actually rather excited about it. The decision to add the extra feature came about in a very sudden way--just a few days ago, in fact.

Some months before, I had received requests for certain voice types to have the blessings and curse support, so I started on their dialogue and had most of it finished--but then someone asked me for details about a different mod I sometimes work on, and I thought, "I need to iron out the exact details of what I hope to achieve with that one."

So I made a list, ended up with 20 important items, and realized that I was a bit iffy about creating one of them. Started thinking about ways to manage it anyway, realized I had a good idea of how it should function, then had the inspiration to take a smaller segment of it and prototype it in Fare Thee Well in order to see how I felt about the creation process. And so here we are!

I suppose I could have held off and waited until 1.5 to implement it, but one of my users made the mistake of updating to version 1.3 while suffering from the Portent of Doom effect, and updating it while affected caused the curse to stick (primarily because 1.3 removed some of the more damaging aspects of the original curses--'twas too much Fallout New Vegas for me: I confused one perk system with another).

This way everyone wins: more interaction, new voice types supported, plus curse removal without having to fiddle with console commands.
