Lustrous and Luminous
Hone your smithing skill to restore the Jagged Vein to its past splendor
(check out Kat's notes below for details)
The Jagged Vein
A longsword formed out of ruby
Left forgotten, as the flow of time corrodes its blade
Used to be imbued with powerful magic, yet faded away for ages
But its jagged edge remains fearsome
Shredding flesh and bone, hide and alloy
Location:
Evergreen Grove
Kat's Notes Update 2.0:
- Added 2 new variants to upgrade to: Lustrous and Luminous
+ Lustrous Jagged Vein is the restored/upgraded variant of its previous state, which has revamped appearance and higher base damage, but heavier. It's enchantable.
+ Luminous Jagged Vein is the alternative - glowing variant of Lustrous. It emits shadow-casting light and has its own heath absorbing enchantment, along with additional blood splatter.
+ Upgrading dulled Jagged Vein to Lustrous requires Ebony Smithing perk and 20 flawless rubies. If a Jagged Vein is enchanted, Arcane Blacksmith perk is also needed. Use the forge to perform restoration. Upgrading can be done with either 1h or 2h variant of Jagged Vein. Be warned that this process is irreversible.
+ To switch between Lustrous and Luminous, use the tanning rack.
+ (Self-enchanted) enchantment previously applied on Lustrous will be lost if switching from Lustrous to Luminous.
+ The base Jagged Vein variant can be forged from raw materials if you have at least 1 Lustrous or Luminous in your inventory, either 1h or 2h.
All variants:
- Are temperable with 5 flawless rubies. Luminous doesn't requires Arcane Blacksmith perk to temper.
- Use tanning rack to switch between 1h and 2h variants. Be aware that any enchantment applied shall be lost.
