This page provides more in-depth information on the compatibility for various mods for A Horse's Life.

Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch

Only relevant changes have been forwarded from the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch and anything else should be overwritten by this mod.

Wild Horses

If you use the Wild Horses creation, A Horse’s Life includes a patch that seamlessly integrates the Unicorn into its system. This patch also disables the original taming mechanics and stable hostler dialogue, ensuring a fully immersive experience under A Horse’s Life's framework.

Horse Armor

If you use the Horse Armor creation, A Horse’s Life includes a patch that ensures only one set of Elven and Steel barding exists. When equipping barding to the Unicorn, the mesh will automatically adjust to accommodate its horn, functioning similarly to how vanilla armor adapts for beast races.

Cutting Room Floor

A simple patch is provided to disable Karinda at the Whiterun stables as she causes havoc with the two horses stationed there, and doesn't serve any meaningful purpose.

Book Covers Skyrim

A patch is included as this mod edits the note in Black-Briar Lodge to include more accurate information about Frost's lineage and traits, resulting in altering its appearence.

Animated Whistling

A simple patch has been included to swap the search idle animation for a horse whistle where the player will put their fingers to their mouth.

Horse Muck

A simple patch has been added for horse muck as my horse manure isn't very horse poo-like. The name "muck" has been replaced with "manure" and horses will now use the horse muck model. It's also recommended to add the retexture mod as linked in the description. Here I am, talking about horse poo in a Nexus article, what is happening?

Better Third Person Selection

There is a patch for BTPS, allowing you to make use of that mod's features such as interacting with objects and NPCs whilst mounted.

Tween Menu Overhaul

There is a patch for TMO that allows you to command your horses via the tween menu under the Character selection. This provides quick access without the need for using yet another hotkey.
