WHERE TO START:
-- You can find Ma'kara near the bridge just outside Darkwater Crossing. As you approach her, textbox should pop up, signifying the start of the quest.

FROM THE RIVER:
-- Ma'kara will return to Darkwater Crossing after you heal her. She directs you to Mistwatch, a bandit fort to the east of Darkwater Crossing that specializes in kidnapping and ransom.

-- You can find a friendly bandit named Sugarclaw cowering in the tower outside of Mistwatch after you clear the exterior. Sugarclaw will give you a hint as to where to find Ma'kara's lost belongings, and then will become a vendor.

TO THE BARDS COLLEGE:
--After returning Ma'kara's gem to her, she will direct you to the Bards College in Solitude to search for her brother.

-- Ma'kara will head out for the college, but cannot make it all the way there in her current condition. She can be found in the Bannered Mare side room after you're done at the College.

-- Udasi is nowhere to be found at the College, but Nanak can give you a hint about him if you speak to him while you're there.

-- Udasi left a book in the basement of the College. Turn right at the bottom of the stairs and head to the end. The book is on the ground next to the bench. Reading it will progress the quest.

WHITERUN, WINDHELM, AND BEYOND

-- Ma'kara will head to Windhelm after you talk to her about the book. You mention there are Dwemer Ruins far to the southeast of Windhelm, up in the mountains.

-- After you speak to Ma'kara in Windhelm and head out with her to find the ruins, you are looking for Ansilvund, which is slightly northeast of Shor's Stone. At Ansilvund, you can head into the mountains, and follow your compass to the Dwemer Ruins of Kagrenzel.

COMPLETION OF MA'KARA'S FIRST QUEST

-- After you find Udasi in Kagrenzel, make sure to collect/read his note and take his Magecrafter Ore before returning to Ma'kara. Make sure to hang onto the Ore. DO NOT SELL IT.

-- After speaking to Ma'kara outside Kagrenzel, she will return to Candlhearth Hall, at which point she can be recruited as a follower.

TWO HALVES OF A WHOLE - ANOTHER QUEST

--Ma'kara's second quest can be begun by taking her back to Kagrenzel at any time after she becomes a follower. Follow the glowing light to find the entrance to the Dwemer Forging Grounds.

--There is 1 key in this dungeon, and it can be looted from the Dwarven Operator.

-- Ensure that Ma'kara is near the forge once you enter the cube, or her dialogue may not initially appear.

-- After completing and leaving the dungeon, allow the scene between Ma'kara and Udasi to play, and then speak to her to conclude her quest and make her eligible for marriage.

Hi I like your mod! but I've run into an issue at the end of Makara's second questline.
After I found the book in the basement of the collage, went to the Whiterun Bannered Mare and talk to Ma'kara, there was no option to tell her about book.
I got your mod from the steam creation club.
Already gathered all other followers of your mod except her.
I am not familier with console.
Is there anyway I can fix this?

There's no option to tell her about Kagrenzel. So I can't continue the questline, any advice?

I've found the kagrenzel lexicon but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with it next. I'm still in the kagrenzel forging grounds and I've cleared the dungeon, anyone have any ideas??

Okay so I just finished Ma'kara's second quest and I don't really have much to ask besides uh...What was that behind that one door? The one just out of reach? I just used no clip because I love finding easter eggs but I almost kind of regret seeing this. Is there a story to this or is it just a fun way of putting a game necessity in?

      Delayed response, but

your second guess is correct. I like doing fun weird stuff behind the scenes, and given how many people have written HUH comments to me about this over the past several years, I know I did a good job with this one. The corpses just serve as containers for the followers' non-equipment inventories. The gem was added for fun. :) Be careful looking where you aren't supposed to though. Some things can't be unseen.[/spoilers]

Unsure. After telling her about the book, enter the console command:

      sqv KhajiitWillFollowMakaraQuest

Tell me what number is next to the Stage option.

Ok. Not sure what the deal is, but as a workaround, you can enter the console command

      setstage KhajiitWillFollowMakaraQuest 45

and that should get her on her way to Windhelm. Let me know if this fixes things!

Umm... I have similar problem but now on stage 45. At first Ma'kaara didn't wanted to leave Winterrun, there was just no option to tell her about book. I don't even remember how I solved it, but finally she went to Windhelm. Now she's in tavern, and first she said she's worried because of butcher. I finished quest with butcher, but there's still no option to take her to ruins (also no ruins on map either). Did I missed something? I'd rather not want to use console to fast forward if possible, but will if it's only option...

  8. Hi, sorry to bother, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong here and it's probably no fault of yours, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how you're supposed to follow the glowing lights for Ma'kara's second quest in Kagrenzel. There doesn't seem to be any accessible path to follow anywhere. The only way I can see to get up to the forging grounds door is to fly up with console commands, which can't be right. I must've gone around Kagrenzel about 5 times now looking for the right way, for puzzles, clues, anything. Maybe I'm missing something glaringly obvious, I hope? Please let me know if I have!!

      Non-spoiler Hint: Don't overthink it.

      Semi-Spoiler Hint:
      Spoiler:
      Show
Have you tried just following the lights?

      Ultra-Spoiler Answer:
      Spoiler:
      Show
There is an invisible walkway that follows the path that the orb takes upwards. The light beacons are the hint you're looking for. If you run from light to light, you should be able to make it up to the doorway, no problem. But you have to start from the spot where the orb started.

Let me know if you continue to have difficulty, because that means something has gone wrong.
    2. Awesome, thanks for helping me out! It worked! Seems the part I was missing was

the angle I was coming from. Had already figured there was an invisible path but when I walked the wrong way up it from the side I thought there wasn't a path at all haha

I have a problem about Makara second quest.I think it bugged because there is no glowing light on the stone bridge and also i havent found any operation key you are talking about. So maybe there is a command to restart this quest?

i have run into a little bit of a problem, the very final step of ma'karas second quest is not doable for me
the ghost of her brother sits on the stairs but neither of the two react to each other, the dialog sequence doesnt play

is there a console command with which i could fix this ? or perhaps some other method ?

the latest save i have that would allow me to clear the dungeon again would set me back many hours, beyond even the first step of her quest. and so im very reluctant to take that out.

I just saw that too!! I wonder what it's implying? Maybe that they were dwarves in a past life or something??
