Skyrim VR
- OStim Standalone VR has been released.
- You can follow this guide for VR, but you should get the VR versions of the listed dependencies instead. Double-check which versions supports VR, particularly for Racemenu.
Skyrim: Special Edition has different versions, which determine the compatibility of Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) mods.
SKSE is a tool used by many Skyrim mods that expands scripting capabilities and adds additional functionality to the game.
Not all mods use SKSE. However, the mods that use SKSE are dependent on your Skyrim: SE version to work.
In January of 2024, Skyrim: SE has been updated to version 1.6.1170.
OStim has been updated to work in 1.6.1170, as well as Improved Camera (for first-person view).
When installing SKSE mods, such as OStim, If you get the dependencies for the wrong Skyrim: Special Edition version, nothing will work.
Make sure you get the correct dependencies for your Skyrim: SE version.
You can see your Skyrim: SE version by right clicking the game executable > Properties > Details.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE VERSIONS?
Users can use the latest version of Skyrim without issues at this date.
Developers may want to downgrade to 1.5.97 in order to use some changes/fixes to the Creation Kit.
HOW DO I DOWNGRADE TO AN EARLIER VERSION?

2) OStim Installation: Dependencies
Make sure you have read and understood the above before you try to install OStim.
If you install the wrong versions of the dependencies, OStim will not work.
When downloading the mods listed below, ignore any other requirements that appear, some information is outdated.
1) SKSE
SKSE should be installed directly to your game files. Do not install SKSE through the mod manager. Get SKSE from this website: https://skse.silverlock.org/
- For version 1.6.1170 (direct download).
- For version 1.6.640 (direct download).
- For version 1.5.97 (direct download).
- For version 1.6.659(GOG) (direct download).
2) Nemesis or Pandora
Which one should I use? Nemesis and Pandora are both tools that allow Skyrim to play new animations through "behavior injection" (this is a technical term for Havok, Skyrim's animation and physics engine).
- Nemesis is older, but works for everything apart from creature animations* (such as wolves, draugr). Overall, the limitation of using Nemesis is being unable to use sexual content involving creatures (that content is not supported by OStim, it is from other animation frameworks).
- Pandora is newer, slightly more convenient to use than Nemesis, supports creature animations, but is still under development and you may encounter issues under certain circumstances.

5) XPMSSE

- XPMSSE works independently of Skyrim version.
- The Basic version is recommended.
- Attention: When modding your game, if you come across broken and stretched body meshes, make sure that XPMSSE is not being overwritten by mods that shouldn't be overwriting it, such as Schlongs of Skyrim.

3) OStim Installation: OStim and Open Animations RE
Download and install all of the following mods.

OPEN ANIMATIONS RE
For testing the process of adding new animations, I recommend installing Open Animations Romance and Erotica.

- Before adding more animations, it is recommended to see if OStim works properly with just Open Animations RE at first.
- Notice that OARE requires OStim Community Resource.
RUN NEMESIS OR PANDORA
Run Nemesis or Pandora to get the animations working in the game.
When adding or updating animation sets, you must run Nemesis or Pandora again.
4) How to use OStim
Important: when you install 3BA or BHUNP female body, these mods will have conflicting hotkeys with OStim. Go on the MCM menu for 3BA/BHUNP and unbind the keys by binding them to Esc.
You may rebind your controls in the OStim Standalone MCM. The instructions below are for the default keys.
For testing purposes, you can start a scene by pressing the up arrow key (scene start) while looking at an NPC.
However, it is intended to start OStim scenes with gameplay addons. Access the OStim SA Content Guide and see the mods under "Gameplay".
- Recommended options: OStim Romance, OStim Lovers.
8 is up.
4 is left; 6 is right.
5 is down.
7 is "select".
9 is "toggle actor".
. (Del) is "end scene".
/ switches perspectives if you have Improved Camera installed.
L opens the Alignment Menu.
The Alignment Menu uses the same key as OStim for navigating (NumPad 8, 4, 6, 5) and toggling actors (NumPad 9).
To change the increment for the Alignment Menu, it is NumPad 1.

Open Animations RE has many animations that were made considering first-person perspective.
The first-person camera mod that works with OStim NG is Improved Camera.

1) Install Improved Camera;
2) Install OStim Improved Camera Configuration;
3) Read the installation instructions of the configuration file in order to understand how to apply it in game.

INCOMPATIBLE MODS
The following mods are incompatible with OStim Standalone:
- OSex, OSex animation packs, Unofficial OSex Bug Patch;
- OSA (you may still use OSA for OStim, as OStim SA does not interact with it, and it is a dependency, albeit needless, of some mods);
- OAlign, OSearch, OSound;
- Conditional Expressions - Subtle Face Animations (this version is presumed to work);
- FK's Diverse Racial Skeletons (causes misalignment);
- Racial Body Morphs Redux SSE AE - FKDRS - Diverse body types and height by Race and Gender (causes misalignment);
- True Player Idling: this mod will interfere during OStim scenes and cause UI and Camera issues;
- NPC Names Distributor: this mod may cause crashes on scene start. Certain versions may also have issues with OBodyNG and preset detection. Try disabling this mod or removing to see if it resolves these issues;
- Immersive Interactions Teleportation Bug Fix (some users reported that it caused CTD, but see for yourself if you'd like to use it);
- Certain version combinations of Compass Navigation Overhaul and CoMAP break Racemenu and are therefore not compatible. Read the mod pages of both.
HOW TO CLEAN MY SAVE?
If OStim works on a new save, but not on your existing save, you can get it working on your existing save by performing a "clean save procedure".
If during the game you notice that OStim stops working as it did previously, see if that is the case.
You should not attempt do this is your OStim does not work on a new game. That would be pointless.
1. Disable OStim and all OStim addons in your mod manager (including iWant Widgets if you have ORomance). Disabling Open Animations RE is not necessary.
2. Launch the game and it will complain about missing mods. If it says your game is corrupt, the culprit may have been OPrivacy; enable the mod but disable its .esp and try again.
3. Play the game for a minute or two. Run around, change cells, etc.
4. Save the game.
5. Open the new save in Fallrim Tools ReSaver and clean it (see "Instructions" in the middle of ReSaver's mod page description to understand how to do this).
6. Re-enable OStim and any other related plugins that were disabled in step 1.
8. Launch game.
9. Load the clean save you made.
10. Give the game a few minutes to get the OStim MCM working. The game now believes you have never had OStim installed because you cleaned your save.

Just one thing, I see a lot of different people saying that Conditional Expressions is majorly incompatible unless it's the Extended version on LoversLab. I don't mean to doubt any master modder's words out there, but I've been using the basic version alongside OstimSA for about a year now on lots of different mod collections I've made and have never run into a single problem between the two mods, expressions work both during scenes and just during regular gameplay, no CTDs, scenes play out perfectly.
Just curious why everyone else says this is a big no-no?
I followed each troubleshooting step to no avail. if someone can solve this mystery it'd be appreciated.
