You caught me there. These screenshots were done through the steam overlay which has horrible compression. I applied a noise removal filter in Photoshop so props for noticing! Tomorrow I'll see if I can make a clearer 4k image!
@ Eronon , If that's the case (which I doubt) you should go through the proper channels and file an official complaint, with proof. Stop sending me PMs about this.
Here's a self-serving comment, but we've also been around since 2014 or so, and we grew frustrated with the vanilla low-poly femalehead.nif's asymmetrical eyes, making all the Skyrim female characters have misaligned eyes.
So we sculpted our own femalehead.nif with symmetrical eyes, which we have since made available as a mod for both Oldrim and Skyrim SE.
Just our way of saying thanks to the community, but, note, every time someone updates their SR files at STEAM, STEAM will replace any modded femalehead.nif with the vanilla, again. Just sayin'.
We have noticed some High-Poly heads produce perfectly symmetrical eyes.
While the one from this image doesn't , so we're not sure why some high-poly heads look great and sometimes not. Maybe, the release date of the off-site high-poly head? Or someone modding and adding mesh and vertices to the vanilla?
Thanks for the elaborate comment, really appreciated! I checked your mods published and I will definitely will check it out and try to recreate this custom character.
Now that I think of it, my custom textures always seemed to have an issue with the left eye... Probably the mesh and uv map is the culprit as you mention.
In my experience I've learned to make modifications always on a custom race so I have control on whether I want to have NPCs changed. If I'm able to recreate a proper base head mesh from your NIF then I'll definitely keep using that one!
I wouldn't say it's overrated; it is what it is a higher polygon mesh. But yes, similar results can be achieved through sculpting the default lower poly head mesh. I will say this: it took me a long time (months) to achieve a similar look of my original character going from the low poly to the high poly head so I can absolutely understand why some choose to stick with the lower poly head.
Gorgeous character with lovely nicely balanced features and beautiful blue eyes.

Or sometimes the images are reversed, and the right eyes look larger than the left ones.
Or sometimes the irises of the eyes are a bit askew, looking cross-eyed, though maybe some users prefer that?
We just don't know. G/M73.
