Name: Nivievi

Gender: Female

Personality: Very extroverted, intelligent, and obsessed with her archaeologist life. Enjoys spending her days studying, exploring dungeons in search of ancient artifacts, or teaching history to her students and anyone who would listen. Although, since the day she became a host to spirits, her mind is unstable and her personality can change abruptly. In a matter of seconds, her normally friendly behaviour can give place to senseless violence, lustful desires, uncontrollable crying, etc. It can even physically change her, drastically increasing her body mass. Normally, she can calm herself down after exhausting all the out-of-control spirit energy inside her. Will sometimes hear and argue with the spirits.

Abilities: Master of martial arts. Capable of harnessing the magic energy of the spirits within her, which makes her capable of several elemental spells. Prefers close combat, so usually combines both martial arts and magic, enchanting her fists with elemental power like fire and wind, or simply to increase her overall physical strength. If the spirit energy inside her goes too long without being expelled, her body mass will increase uncontrollably. Can regenerate from major physical wounds, but only if the spirits help. Usually only fights for self defense, but her mental instability can sometimes cause her to go in a berserk state, turning her into a killing machine against her will.

Backstory: Born to a famous archaeologist father and mercenary mother, Nivievi had a happy childhood. While not really understanding her father's interests in ancient history, she was glad to spend time with her mother,  who made sure her daughter was fully capable of defending herself in a fight. Unusually fearless, in her teenager years Nivievi was already helping her mother in completing dangerous jobs. One day, her father suffered an accident which left him incapable of walking. This event led her to spend more time at home with her father, which helped her learn more about his work. Eventually, Nivievi found herself enjoying the long discussions with her father about mysterious relics and ancient history, which made her decide to go explore locations in his stead. To Nivievi, traveling to uncharted lands, fighting off unknown obstacles, and finding a reward at the end of it was the most fun she ever had. Soon, something that started as a way of helping her father, turned into her own life obsession. 
As the years passed, Nivievi completely took over her father's work at the guild, had her own students and exploration team, became a famous figure in her region. Eventually, she got job requests that were too dangerous for other groups. Places that were previously explored, but from where nobody ever came back to tell the story. Being confident in her abilities as an explorer, she never refused such jobs. In fact, the riskier a request was, the more excited she was to be the one to complete it. One day, a job took her to far away islands. Dangerous creatures lurked around, her team suffered several casualties, but Nivievi never stopped. Many told her to retreat and prepare better for the expedition, but her pride and over confidence would not permit. The idea of disappointing not just her students, fellow archaeologists, and specially her parents, was too much for Nivievi to accept. She had to bring something back. 
During a night camping, voices started calling to her, telling her there was something to find. She thought herself going crazy. For the first time she felt fear, and every fiber of her body wanted to leave that cursed place. To her surprise, her companions had a sudden change of heart and decided to explore the island further. More than wanting to stay, now she had no choice but to follow them deeper in the island. As if suddenly everyone knew exactly where to look, they found a tomb. No creatures in the place, things were going too easy, Nivievi thought. It's too late to go back now, so she just wanted to find whatever was calling them and leave. 
At the end of the location, behind a secret passage, they found four bizarre totems. Not the first time Nivievi had seen such objects, but these were speaking to her. "Break us", they said. More than just words, they felt like orders that could not be refused. While Nivievi suffered a terrible and sudden headache, other members of her party were doing exactly what they were told. As the totems were broken, weird mist was released from inside them. As she opened one of her eyes, she watched her companions attacking each other. It was clear to her that they were being controlled by whatever was sealed in this place. Fearing for her life, she had no other choice but to fight back the ones coming for her. Thankfully, they were fighting no better than drooling mad beasts, incapable of using magic, so Nivievi with her close combat expertise, was able to knock out all of her companions. She wanted to escape, but she couldn't just leave her friends in that place, so she tried to carry them back. Soon, that proved to be a mistake, as the mists came out of the unconscious bodies, and infiltrated her own.
The next time Nivievi opened her eyes, she was naked in a completely different place. A land she never been to before. Several creatures laid dead around her. Confused, she started to wander and think. Soon, she remembered her last memories, and realized her body was taken over and used, for who knows how long. The spirits inside her head told her they were finally free, and she was now their vessel to do whatever they desired, and to stop her struggle and give up control. Nivievi needed to find someone who could help her situation. She knew she couldn't go back home, not when her body wasn't her own anymore. It required all of her willpower to not just give up and let them do what they wanted with her body. As she traveled the land in her search, suffering from painful headaches due to her mind fighting to not lose control, and sometimes ending up in terrible situations thanks to the spirits managing to control her actions, she eventually found a shaman. The man was unable to completely remove the spirits, but by marking her body with tattoos, he was able to weaken the spirits control over Nivievi's body and mind. It would also seal them inside her body, stopping them in case they tried to escape. Yet, sometimes the spirits would still be able to influence Nivievi's actions, and speak through her lips, acting as alternative personalities. Thankfully, Nivievi's mind was strong enough to keep them in check for most of the time, and she eventually learned that using their magic energy as fuel was another way of decreasing their manipulation over her. She continued her search all over the world, hoping to one day find a solution to her problem, or to maybe understand the spirits real intentions...
