This is part of an armor mod I am working on. It is meant to be a nod to the storied Nordic hero Wulfharth, and provide a mid-game armor set to players who are roleplaying a traditional Nord hero or a vanilla Dragonborn playthrough (or even just a trophy to display in one's home). I'm planning to play a modded Dragonborn playthrough and wanted to add some more tangible nordic history into my game. Most of my overhaul mods are mainly to enhance the game as it is, not to drastically overhaul it, so anything I make regarding this armor is meant to feel like it could have been in the base game already.
The lore background I've mustered up for this gear set: This armor, allegedly, once belonged to the ancient hero and king Wulfharth during his exploits across ancient Skyrim and Resdayn. For many centuries, this armor has gathered dust interred within a tomb dedicated to the legendary Nord warrior. Perhaps one day, a worthy hero will uncover it and bring some semblance of the Old Ways into the light again. Dragon scales and bones adorn portions of the ancient armor, which have been laid atop pelts and other iron banding, to give the wearer strong protection in addition to warmth and flexibility.
I have a few ideas for acquiring this armor, which would result in a short dungeon quest to acquire it. This will take some time to implement but I'd love to have a voice quested mod allowing the Dragonborn to gain Wulfharth's armor. Heck, I thought it would be cool to even see him in Sovengarde as a nice easter egg for the player (assuming enough of him is laid to rest for that to be possible after the Warp in the West). Wulfharth's story is very interesting and very confusing depending on what you hear. Great care is being taken not to step on any toes but undoubtedly any mod I make regarding him will be my interpretation of it.
I have a few mashups of vanilla Skyrim apparel waiting in my files gathering dust. My aim is to release my first few mods as a series of clothing mashups inspired by each race living on Tamriel. I also want to release a few very small .esl or replacer armor packs that add quality-of-life diversity for existing armor. Things like special additions Dunmer might add to their armor while travelling, or what Nords might wear as auxillaries in the Legion, and offer these as craftable or lootable pieces of gear. I found inspiration from various vanilla clothing mashups and wanted diverse clothing for people to add to unique character builds. And yes, I plan for 99% of the armor to be retexture compatible, or at least offer an unaltered version so people can use it with retextures.
