Well done. Now take your rightful place as Lord of this Large Dank Castle which would be an Unmitigated Nightmare to Repair/Maintain all while overseeing a Court of Duplicitous Slime Balls who don't seem to add anything useful to the equation. If you're a Vampire of the Volkihar Vampire Clan.

If you're Dawnguard, maybe check in with Isran once in a while and compliment him on running one of the few groups in Skyrim that doesn't need to make you their new King.

Seriously, why wasn't Serena the next in line to take the Throne? Or Valerica? Any Dragonborn worth his or her Frost Salts would already be the leader of one faction already, and maybe likely two or three if they had no self-restraint. But oh well, we are now the lord of the castle. Lovely.

For my part, I prefer killing all of them, even Valerica (by using console commands) and curing Serena (after getting the Volkihar Blood for myself), after this, I fleed as far as I can of the Dawnguard (who will spare me with what I have done..)

So long as you are a vampire, and there are vampire hunters, you will never truly be safe. When there is no one left but you to hunt, do you think they will lay down their crossbows? I don't trust the Dawnguard, or at-least their later members, not to target you even if you mind your own business. You will still need to drink blood after all, and there may come a day when Skyrim is bereft of bandit meatsacks running around like free snacks.

Maybe it won't matter because the Dragonborn is likely going to disappear like the Hero of Kvatch and the Nerevarine, but I like to think long-term. And if I am going to go Vampire, I may as well go full on Vampire Lord and get a throne for the trouble. But get rid of the useless thugs, renovate the place, invite the brightest minds for the gift of never-ending life and establish the Court as a behind-the-scenes power. So basically an above-ground Institute (Fallout 4) that is politically savvy.

Yeah it's what I was doing in my oldrim playthrough, I sided with the vampires, renovated the castle (with the mod "Castle Volkihar Redux", a great mod) and build some businesses like a mine ("Windstad mine" mod), a farm ("Heljarchen farm" mod) and a "Volkihar Blood" trading port (it comes with the "Castle Volkihar Redux" mod) with the other vampire clans of Tamriel for sustaining the castle cost/maintenance (Roleplay). But the Dawnguard is here and it could be some problem in the future (just about the fact that they know that you rule a vampire clan, it couldn't be good for your reputation in Tamriel.)

But don't you just wipe them out as part of some Side-Quests? Are you trying to avoid killing them?

I don't think that "killing the head of the snake" is a good idea in the long run..
I killed them all but due to the fact that all the people of Skyrim is now aware about the "vampire threat", there will be always more new recruit.. ahah
