About this image
I'm currently working on a remake of the Maiden Dresses of Norway retexture I did years ago, this time as a standalone mod with custom meshes and way more colour variants. I decided to take a break from the Fimbul Fashion mod, and work on something I know how to do. There's no bone rigging issues with this one, as the meshes are just lightly edited vanilla meshes, so work on this mod is going pretty fast.
A bunad is a Norwegian folk costume, mainly based on formal clothes worn by Norwegian peasants in the 1700's and 1800's. The bunad in this picture is based on the 1948 bunad of Valdres. Valdres is a valley in the mountainous region of central Norway, known for its natural beauty, and stinky fermented fish.
I decided to change it up a bit with this one and have the shirt open in the neck. In the real world you're supposed to have it buttoned completely, but this is Skyrim, and it's already fairly inaccurate with the Renaissance sleeves and the new embroidery, so I figured I could make this one a little bit less modest, since it's already one of the more sultry-looking bunads in the real world.
This mod will have two versions of each outfit; a bunad and a Viking dress. The bunad comes in long sleeved and sleeveless versions. The bunads are based on a handful of real-world ones. They're deliberately inaccurate in order to work better with the fantasy world of Skyrim, but they're still similar enough to be recognisable to anyone familiar with these bunads. The Viking dresses are the more lore friendly version of these outfits.
There will also be male versions of the clothes, and a few accessories such as hoods, veils, and gloves. I might also include some of the socks and shoes from the Fimbul Fashion mod, but with a retexture.
Also, I'm not sure if I should give this mod a different title, so feel free to suggest a new title, if you think of one.

As for a new name... How about something along the lines of 'Traditional Nord Dresses'? It fits how you're going for something more fantasy-style!! Maybe the Viking ones could be 'formal traditional Nord dress' and the bunad could be 'traditional Nord dress'??
Just throwing out some ideas!! ❤
Something to consider, yeah.
bunadmaid dress?
