Recently I visited a real life Boreal Forest/Tundra Forest and was inspired to turn my Skyrim tundra into a boreal forest. I went about doing this by installing Whiterun Forest Borealis and UG2Redux without the optional tundra grass plugin. I'm pretty happy with what I've done here, only problem is it runs at an average of 30fps, but I guess that's fine.

I find it interesting and somewhat inconsistent that the region around Whiterun is considered tundra when tundra by definition is frozen wasteland in which temperatures are too cold for trees to grow. Since Whiterun is in the southern part of Skyrim it would seem that technical definition of tundra does not apply.
I have not chosen to install this mod due to the potential performance hit and because I just like having some open areas defined by the vanilla landscape.
