Yeah, I got like 290 .esp's in my count but over 40 can be merged with Wrye Bash. It turns out that I had one esp that was being merged that had an ESL master and that was keeping Mator Smash from integrating my Bashed Patch. I use MO2 so I may eventually try flagging more files as esl with tesedit.

It's apparent that you want to use Bashed Patch just for the merge functionality. Is Mator Smash even updated yet to support ESLs?
One thing you could do, might be tedious, is just make all the mods which are listed as mergeable as ESPFE, flag these plugins as ESLs in xEdit so they don't take a plugin count. That way you would not need to create a Bashed Patch anymore.

If you use Vortex, you can go to the plugin section and choose the "could be light" flag. It lists all of the mods that you are using and that are able to be made into light mods. After bringing up this list, I Look each mod up in " SSEEditQuickAutoClean". Then, Clean the mod. Watch the clean process to see whether the mod uses more than 4 Master Files. If 4 or less, I use the "Creation Kit" to convert the mod to an "ESF". If more than 4, I simply click the leaf symbol in Vortex allowing Vortex to mark the file as being a light file. I am not sure about your "Bashed" stuff. Because I have not taught myself about the whole bashing thing as of yet. I hope that this is helpful to someone. If not, Oh Well!
P.S.I did not go thru the processes of how to get and use the "Creation Kit", " SSEEditQuickAutoClean" and "Vortex" as there are already "Walk-Thru" options available all over the web for each.
