Hey there, I never noticed this until now but, with the All Bedrolls on Top option at least, the dark leather and fur backpacks still show the normal leather texture. It seems like the cord actually uses the dark leather and fur texture instead of the backpack itself. Can this be fixed?
Of course! Here is the normal leather version and here is the dark leather version. As you can see they both use the normal leather texture in-game, even though the GO model in the inventory uses the correct dark leather texture for the dark leather variant. But if you look closely you can see that the cord/string in-game is a little darker for the dark leather variant. Something tells the game to use the dark leather texture for the cord and not the texture itself. Disabling your mod restores the correct default behaviour.
How I understand the problem is that the dark leather backpack uses a normal texture instead of a dark one. And cord use dark texture instead of normal texture. I checked the models and texture paths, they seem to have no mistakes. You didn't check the main mod version for this mistake?
No no, I downloaded and installed the correct version. Have you only checked the model and texture paths (they do indeed look correct) or have you also tested the backpacks in game?
To understand what could be the reason, I need to download and install AE. However, I'm currently modding LE. Perhaps in the future I will fix this small mistake.
Okay, I've taken a closer look in NifSkope and the TriShapes are named differently from before (they have "_2" behind their names that hey didn't have before). But even removing the "_2" from the TriShape names doesn't fix it.
I think the way it works for dark leather and fur backpacks is that the ESL assigns differen texture sets for those two armor add-ons and it looks for the name of the TriShape to replace its texture set accordingly. But that doesn't explain why renaming them back in the mesh in NifSkope doesn't fix it.
Am I making sense? I can try to rephrase what I wrote.
Hi :D I dont know if its just me but when I download the main file the bedroll is on top of the backpack. Am I doing something wrong? There is no file for the bedroll at the right side of the backpack.
Hello, some of backpacks have bedroll on the top in the main mod file. To have it at the right side find basicbackpack, finebackpack or hunterbackpack in your game.
I did a quick test with all bedroll backpacks with both male and female characters and it seems to work perfectly. They all show up correctly and look absolutely amazing.
