Hint
Lore - Contains Spoilers to this Mods Story and Quest
The Dwemer cities were largely isolated and operated more as independent city states although they would unite for common goals. As a young man, Ruthcard, a prospective mage's apprentice from Morrowind, visited Skyrim with his master Kagrenac. It was a great honor for Ruthcard to study under Kagrenac who was a highly esteemed Tonal Architect (Mage) and was on the fast track to become the Chief Tonal Architect. They traveled to each Dwarven city learning the latest tonal architectural applications, but while they were in Nchuand-Zel, Ruthcard fell in love with a Falmer servant named Celadoor. Celadoor was a servant that served respected new arrivals and foreigners and she was frequently used to translate the common tongue. Although most Falmer by this time were blind, misshapen, and used for brute labor, a very small select few were allowed to abstain from eating the Blackreach mushroom, and lived as personal servants to esteemed Dwarves. Their love was forbidden, and to leave his clan and apprenticeship would cast him out of Dwarven society, so Ruthcard determined to be with her again devoted his life to Tonal Magic and teleportation.
Years later Ruthcard became a respected mage and worked with the weapon smith Tarith, son of Radac Stungnthumz, to create the Tonal Doors. Although an unusual task, Tarith was familiar with empowering and shaping wood and metal using Tonal Magic. Teleportation was only the first step for Ruthcard however, and using this newfound power, he created a laboratory deep underneath Red Mountain with seemingly no way in or out. It was here he perfected the art of Teleportation and, once ready, spread the word about his creation. Dwemer cities far and wide invited Ruthcard to teach about teleportation but the only invitation he responded to was the invitation to Nchuand-Zel. Finally, he would be united with his love. He created a magical tome to function as a portal for her to get to his secret laboratory and coded the key that was required in Falmer Script but in the language of the common tongue to ensure no Dwarven would know how to use it. On his first night at Nchuand-Zel, Ruthcard left the tome out on his desk and was on his way to request Celadoor tidy up his room. He had a note in hand to give to her detailing how he wanted his room cleaned when in the blink of an eye, all the Dwarves disappeared. Chaos ensued and the Falmer used for brute force labor flooded into the cities killing the few Falmer servants that remained.
DEFINITIONS
- Tonal Magic (Architecture): is the manipulation of sound to alter reality. The most notable users of tonal architecture were the Dwemer tonal architects who could shape tones through their own vocalizations, amplified by magical torcs. It was similar to Shouting but much more scientifically crafted and honed.
- Radac Stungnthumz: a Dwemer weaponsmith and soldier who inhabited Bamz-Amschend. Although he was merely a warrior and craftsman, he was remembered as a powerful mystic and author of ancient texts. (Morrowind)
- Kagrenac: Lord Kagrenac was the Dwemeri Chief Tonal Architect during the time of the First Council. The foremost arcane philosopher and mage-smith of the Dwemer, he was a "pioneer" in the field of mythopoeic forces, and devised tools with which to harness them with the intent of transcending the limits of Dwemer mortality. It was his commissioned creation that likely caused the disappearance of the Dwarves (Marrowind)
- Ruthcard's Journal tome translation says: Zel Chend Chal Arkng Ruk-Kagr duabcharn (Referenced Unknown Word for Key Item in Falmer Text) btham - Farengar has translated the Dwarven text correctly but does not know the one Falmer word that details the key to the lab (Found in Farengar's Library)
- Ruthcard's letter to Celadoor is in the common tongue as a layer of protection since its a language she knows but few Dwarves know. The Text using the Falmer language states, "I'm sorry my love for being so harsh we will be together soon" and as a additional layer of protection this secrete message is in the common tongue but using Falmer text just like the key word in his journal (Found in Nchuand-Zel Quarters)
- The letter to Ruthcard from Kagrenac found in his lab is titled "Request from a Friend." It is fully written in Dawven text and can be read using the "Rosetta Stone" notes Ruthcard made while learning Common and Falmer otherwise it can be read using a wiki page to translate Dwarven letters to english. It states, "Ruthcard, My greatest apprentice and old friend. War at Red Mountain looms, and I request your aid for the coming battle. I know you care not for politics and war but I formally request your help. If you refuse this request to pursue your academic passions I will understand, please just give it some consideration. Your people need you. Kagrenac. (Found in Ruthcard's Laboratory)
Solution - If You Don't Care for the Quest and Just Want the Spell and Player Home
Also there is a small puzzle as it relates to how to get back to the new player home. The solution to this puzzle is that you just needed to play with the teleportation doors. The banish doors spell puts them back in the lab/player home where they originally where. So if you do that and then summon just 1 door now you can go to your player home any time.
