Background

According to science, any creature that wears pants is sentient. Pants indicate a deeply complex creature with thoughts, dreams, loves, and fears. In Skyrim, even pantsless creatures harbor an ethereal soul that binds that being’s essence to a sense of eternal energetic life.

Now, you can suck that soul straight out of that creature and turn it into glorious perk points! 

If the idea of turning the soul of a living, feeling creature into a disposable energy source for your shortsighted needs doesn't bother you in the slightest, this is the mod for you!



Details

At any forge you can compress filled soul gems into consumable gems that grant perk points. There are different versions that add different levels of immersion and difficulty. All of the files are interchangeable throughout the game, as the only difference between them is the addition of items to leveled lists and crafting recipes. 

(1) Main File - Harder Crafting with Leveled Lists
(A bashed patch is recommended for this file. Leveled lists scale with the player.)

Crafting:
9 Lesser Soul Gems --> Gem of Self Actualization (1 Perk Point)
6 Common Soul Gems --> Gem of Inner Tranquility (2 Perk Points)
4 Greater Soul Gems --> Gem of Supremacy (3 Perk Points)
3 Grand Soul Gems --> Gem of Transcendence (4 Perk Points)
1 Black Soul Gem --> Gem of Consumption (2 Perk Points)

Leveled Lists:

• Rarely found on bandits and mages (1%-2% chance).
• Uncommonly found on vampires and forsworn (2%-3% chance).
• Can be found more frequently on high level enemies such as bandit bosses, dragons, mammoths, and giants (25%-33% chance).
• Added to common leveled lists such as LootGoldChange and LootGoldChange25 with very rare chances (>1%).
• Found most commonly on rabbits because that's just something I like to do (50% chance).
• Found in a few other chests and other common loot spots with rare to uncommon odds.
  

As you get to higher levels you will likely find more of these than you actually need. I just sell them.

Crafting:
3 Lesser Soul Gems --> Gem of Self Actualization (1 Perk Point)
3 Common Soul Gems --> Gem of Inner Tranquility (2 Perk Points)
2 Greater Soul Gems --> Gem of Supremacy (3 Perk Points)
2 Grand Soul Gems --> Gem of Transcendence (4 Perk Points)
1 Black Soul Gem --> Gem of Consumption (2 Perk Points)

Leveled Lists are the same as main file


(3) Harder Crafting without Leveled Lists

Contains the crafting recipes of the main file but does not add anything to the leveled lists. A bashed patch is not needed for this file.


(4) Easy Crafting without Leveled Lists

Contains the crafting recipes of the Easy Crafting file but does not add anything to the leveled lists. A bashed patch is not needed for this file.



Relation to Perkapalooza

This mod is standalone, but it is complementary to my perk mod Perkapalooza. Perkapalooza adds hundreds of new perks and additional ranks to existing perks, along with a system for potions that grant additional perk points. This mod is a standalone alternative to the perk potion system in Perkapalooza.

This mod does not require Perkapalooza and works just fine without it. I just wanted to repeatedly plug my other mod.



Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are there any incompatibilities?
A: None. Not a single one. If you have multiple mods that add things to the leveled lists you will need Wrye Bash to make a bashed patch, which I would recommend regardless for anything you have on AE. Other than that, its as clean as they come.

Q: Why didn't you use SPID to add things instead of using the leveled lists?
A: I don't know how SPID works and I absolutely cannot be bothered to learn new things.

Q: SPID is really easy though.
A: I. CANNOT. BE. BOTHERED.

Q: Is this compatible with other perk mods?
A: Yes. Ordinator, Perkus Maximus, all of them. It is compatible. 

Q: I this compatible with "Menstruating For Argonians", a mod that lets my lizard person mate with Redguards so that I can have multiracial babies?
A: I mean... yes?

Q: What about lactation perk tree mods? Those are really popular right now.
