Fallout Whiterun is a mod for Shattered Skyrim that aims to bring the feel of the Fallout franchise into Skyrim, starting off with Whiterun. I have big plans for shattered, if you want to help me with this project reach out, I would love to work with a 3d artist. If you have no modding skills but want to donate, here's my patreon. If you can't do either of those then just letting me know you enjoyed the mod is more than enough <3. This project took me 6 months and I've learned a lot, I hope it's reflected in the work and I hope you all enjoy.

So what's changed?
To start, the entire town is now extremely overgrown filled with flora and fauna from all across the province. If you read between the lines, you can determine why this has happened through the many new in game notes and journals added. These provide some history on the happenings of Whiterun without the Dragonborns existence. The actual cause of the apocalypse is left purposefully ambiguous which should ensure maximum narrative compatibility between load orders. You will also find a variety of Skeletons in different positions, some explained by the journals and others left to your imagination.

Many of the interiors have been opened up, some have been destroyed while others remain locked and mostly untouched. You will be able to find plenty of loot to assist you in the apocalypse, and some alcohol for morale. You may also stumble across some supplies, these can be used to restore the new Player home the mod adds in the remnants of Thane Uthgerds house.

A preview of the player home:

The home also includes some quest item displays (many of which are unobtainable in base shattered but I have.. plans... eventually) and also includes fully dynamic containers that will display some of the items placed in them.

Compatibility & Performance
This mod will very likely affect your fps. Whiterun is VERY dense (my future overhauls will not be as bad). I'd say I lost maybe 3-5 frames with an ENB and mods for textures, grass and trees. I tried to add occlusion planes but I have no idea what I'm doing with those so I gave up and removed them, if someone wants to make an occlusion mod for this please feel free.

In the screenshots, I use:
-Traverse the Ulvenwald
-QWs grass patch 2
-Skyland AIO + Atlassian
-Northfires Photoreal Mountains 3
-Grim ENB (very performance heavy)
-Shrubby Symphony

My game was more than playable on a 2080 super with these mods, but your performance will vary depending on your different textures, foliage  and enb setups. Keep in mind Shattered runs significantly better than vanilla Skyrim due to all npcs being removed.

This mod was built with Ulvenwald in mind, but I have checked it with vanilla trees and its fine so you shouldn't run into many issues with other tree mods.

Interior lighting mods currently are probably not compatible. I have no idea what I'm doing with lighting in this game though so if any lighting gods want to help me out or make a patch let me know and I'll link people to it.

I will be making consistency patches for Jks and Ryns outskirts, but at the moment the patches in my patch collection work fine, they just aren't overgrown.

I can't future proof this for any new overhauls that might pop up for shattered, but if anything is incompatible let me know and I'll look into it.

World Eater Tweaks
The tweaks to world eater mostly move and add some enemies. You will find that Whiteurn will be an easier fight (the main complaint with world eater is its difficulty). Balgruuf and Farengar have been moved into Dragonsreach with a bunch of draugr, and the dragon has been moved to the Dragonsreach Balcony. To fill the gaps, some more draugr have been added to the city and new interiors. You will be able to clear the city in a more systematic and balanced way .

I used a lot of assets :)

A massive thank you to Scrabbulor for fixing my World Eater plugin (and making shattered), and Nimwraith for writing some of the journals, you can probably tell which ones I wrote based on the quality (or lack of lol).
