General =================================================== This release is a bit of a rewind and redirection of WFB. With this update, it should be a rare event that a patch is necessary. So what's been done?
All vanilla trees were re-enabled and the mod was redesigned around them. Therefore we're no longer clearing areas of vanilla trees. The mod is also now provided as a flagged ESM. This was done to increase built-in compatibility. Since we're only providing changes to vanilla trees and adding our own, all other mods should win any conflicts with WFB. That's right...if there is a conflict down the pipeline with another mod, just let that mod overwrite WFB. WFB is now designed to work this way!
The areas around Whiterun, settlements, farms, etc. were either cleared of trees or thinned out. The clearing of trees from areas was done to increase built-in compatibility with other mods. For example, there are a lot of mods that add player houses and other structures around Whiterun. Clearing these areas of trees added by WFB allows us to maintain compatibility without the hassle of patches. The thinning was done around settlements to simulate the residents use of the forest as a resource. Therefore, areas around settlements are thinner with smaller trees at the outskirts.
Tree LOD regeneration is required!

This could still use improvement but it's far better than it was.

Installation
Custom Tree Mods Installation Instructions
Install the main file.
If using DynDOLOD v2, install the appropriate billboards for whichever tree mods you are using in your preferred overwrite order. If using DynDOLOD v3, billboards are not necessary since they are created by the newer process.
Generate tree LODs using DynDOLOD (3D Trees are supported).
Install the output from generation as new mod in your mod manager mod.
Explanation: Billboards are two dimensional images of trees. When you generate tree LOD, two things occur. One, the billboards are compiled into a tree LOD atlas, which is a single texture that contains all the tree LOD textures (this is great for performance). Two, it generates a series of files that informs the game where to express tree LODs (e.g., all over Whiterun Tundra), the size of each tree in game, and the position of a particular tree LOD image on the atlas texture.
