You know, for all the hair and wig mods out there featuring Lighting, Serah, and other FFXIII characters and hairstyles, I'm a little shocked this one was apparently missed -- maybe someone made it already, but I sure as heck couldn't find it. Oh well, you know how it goes: if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.
So here we are.
Personally, I made this for me first and foremost, but anyone else is free to take and do with this wig as they please. So... here you go.
Let the goth girl summoner builds begin!
- How to obtain -
. Use either AddItemMenu, or any other mod that does the same. This is a wig, and due to my own laziness, it cannot be crafted, tempered, or collected in the game itself. You need to cheat to get this, and by cheat, I mean use the aforementioned above.
- Updates -
. Optional clothing patch now available. (For those who only use robes and clothing, as well as their associated perks.)
. UBE Compatibility patch now available.
. Colorless Texture addon. (Racemenu users should have a better time getting the color they want.)
. Positioning Update release.
Was messing around with another project when I noticed how the hair on Lumina's model lacked the gap you can see in most images showing off the mod above. When adjusting it for this particular update, however, the back of the hairline ended up clipping into the neck a tiny margin. Due to this, I've not included this particular update into the main file. From what I can tell, the main mod looks fine enough already, but if you feel that the visible gap between the ears is a problem, just grab the update. Should work with everything, but I haven't tested it with UBE yet, so feel free to comment if it acts funky. Realistically, you probably don't need this -- I did, though, so it's only right I let you all have access to it too.
- Potential issues / Compatibility concerns -
.
- Looks fine, end of discussion. (Well, fine as in it works. Whether it looks good is up to your own personal tastes.)
.
.
. Does not include physics -- sorry, but it took me 3 hours just to get this thing working (and more besides to just extract and convert the model to begin with) so I'm in no rush to improve it yet. Again, anyone else is free to try their hands themselves.
.
. Wig behaves like a hat: basically, this means that if your character uses vanilla hairstyles, the hairline you see underneath helmets may appear when using the wig. Personally, I only use modded hairs, so I never notice this -- at the cost of going bald under regular helmets. So if you're noticing the vanilla hairline popping up under the wig, try swapping to a single modded hairstyle, and that should make everything look normal.
- Permissions -
. You don't need my explicit permission to do what you want with this, so long as it remains free. (A thank you would be appreciated though)
- Legal Notice -
. All rights for the model are owned by Square - I'm too tired to write a whole note, so just understand that I don't own the model, okay? (I just put it in the darn game.)
