Apostasy is a modlist for Skyrim Special Edition, brought to you in an easy-to-install method using the power of Wabbajack. Apostasy offers high-fidelity visuals, new quests, new and enhanced locations, and modern, action-oriented gameplay. Developed over the course of thousands of hours by an experienced group of modlist developers and curators, known for lists such as Arisen, Ascensio, Fahluaan, and Vagabond.

Experience a fresh take on Modern Skyrim gameplay! Apostasy utilizes MCO, TK Dodge, Stances NG, Maxsu Poise, and more to provide a versatile and satisfying modern combat experience, all while managing to support both Third and First person gameplay. Apostasy aims to provide an experience where combat feels cohesive, visceral, and reactive. Sporting several custom-made overhauls designed to best suit the list's gameplay. Additionally, the list hosts a finely tuned difficulty system, heavily expanding upon and improving vanilla's rudimentary system of only scaling damage, you can read more about these changes (and more) here.

Gaze upon pleasing visuals and explore a dynamic Tamriel! Apostasy's visuals have been hand picked and highly curated with significant amounts of optimization being done to maintain healthy performance without sacrificing visual quality. Weather and Lighting have been overhauled with Natural and Atmospheric Tamriel and GGUnit's Lux Suite. Cities and interiors have been redesigned and expanded, thanks to mods such as The Great Towns and Cities Series, RedBag's Skyrim, jkrojmal's interiors, and many more. Northern Roads and Nature of the Wild Lands work together to create a more interesting overworld, breathing new life into the world of The Elder Scrolls. Significant care has been taken to ensure the highest quality landscapes and grasses are used to enhance the biodiversity and provide distinct aesthetics for every region. NPCs have also been overhauled, using hand-picked replacers from more than 50 mods (including a few custom ones).

It’s not just eye candy! Careful attention has been paid to the sound design of the world. The list incorporates several mods that utilize Sound Record Distributor to enhance the Skyrim’s soundscape, the LORKHAN soundtrack replacer, and other expertly curated sound replacers for maximum satisfaction!

More choices, new friends, and a whole lot of content! Apostasy expands many vanilla quests, including jayserpa's classic Quest Expansion series as well as some lesser known mods from TheOscar0 and MadAborModding (among some others) to offer new and alternative routes for vanilla quests. New quest mods such as FrankFamily's Artifacts Series, Sirenroot, Extended Cut - Saints and Seducers, Vigilant, Unslaad, and more have been added to ensure there is plenty of new content to experience throughout your playthrough (or playthroughs).

Never face the world alone! Apostasy adds several new, custom voiced followers and expansions, such as Auri, FerisGore, KaidanKatanaRemiel, Serana Dialogue Add-On, Val Serano, and more! You may even encounter some never-before-seen followers.

Get lost in a living world with endless possibilities! Apostasy's NPCs feel alive, with more dynamic animations and varied schedules. New creatures, structures, and diversified clutter breathe new life into the world. New equipment has been added to the world, reintroducing fan-favorite weapon types that were present in Daggerfall and Morrowind. Armors from 4thUnknownNordWarUAPulcharmsolis, and many other talented authors have been added and seamlessly integrated into the world.

It Just Works™!  Apostasy has been extensively tested and includes hundreds of custom patches and tweaks in order to ensure a fresh and stable experience. The list has been extensive balanced and tweaked to try and ensure an enjoyable, yet challenging experience. While bugs are an inevitability in a heavily modded Skyrim, the Discord offers installation and gameplay support* for users of the list, and the list will continue to improve over time as issues are found and fixed.

Regarding performance, based on my own system and user feedback the following chart below lists my recommendations. Please keep in mind that everyone's PC is different and I can only make a best guess as to the hardware requirements based on feedback I am given and internal performance testing that is done.

*Support can only be offered for up-to-date and unmodified versions of the list. Please understand that modifications to the list will void any official support and inquiries regarding modified lists should be handled within the #apostasy-modifications channel of the Waking Dreams Discord Server.
