IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST PLAYTHROUGH OF THE MOD, DO NOT LISTEN TO ORLANDO. DO NOT DO WHAT HE WANTS AT ANY POINT. IGNORE HIM. DON'T EVEN TALK TO TO HIM IF YOU KNOW YOU HAVE NO SELF-CONTROL AND ABSOLUTELY MUST DO WHATEVER AN NPC TELLS YOU TO DO.
Doing what he wants will skip the entire story and land you right in the finale, with zero knowledge of what's going on and no option to return to Skyrim until you're done (or reload a save ... which you should do, unless you're THAT committed to your actions). Orlando is there for those who already know the mod and only want to play the last act. Everyone else, IGNORE HIM!
If you complain about getting stuck in some wasteland and having no clue what you're doing there anyway, I'll know that:
- you haven't read the description on the original VIGILANT page,
- you haven't read the description here,
- you haven't read this sticky.
And you'll be sacrificed to Molag Bal. No mercy.
Seriously, people. RTFM.

Come discuss the trilogy, be up to date on the state of mods, translations, Vicn's blog updates, find answers about the story, etc.
Note: the server is not technical support in any way. If you have modding-related issues, there are other places to solve those problems.
Translation:
- updated for Vigilant 1.7.2
- reverted Nirn's Origin Ring -> Nir's Origin Ring (back to original)
- renamed Chef River Jumper -> Chef Jumps-Over-River (closer to in-world naming conventions)
- reverted everything related to Naarifin -> Narfin (back to how it was a while ago before I decided to see connections where there were none - sorry, my bad)
- renamed Nemesis -> Pitier (the original Japanese literally says "one who sends down pity" ... English is just terrible sometimes and has no good one-word-synonyms)
- a few other corrections and tweaks to some dialogue (Pale Feet, Anatomancer and the Pipers should be just a little more understandable now ... still, good luck figuring out their gibberish on the first try)
Voiced plugin:
- carried over new boss tweaks from the main mod where needed -> get ready to be curbstomped, now for real
This is neither a bug nor something I will be "fixing".
Translation gets corrected, tweaked and so on. Voice files cannot be brought in line without re-recording them, which will NOT happen until the entire trilogy is complete (as I keep repeating). I will also NOT host two different translation files just to keep voices and subtitles consistent because it's too much of a hassle to deal with X amount of different versions of translation.
If it bothers you that much, uninstall voice pack and use only the silent translation.
There's no quests or any other events tied to it and aside from minor karma loss, killing it doesn't impact you in any way. If anything, its whole role there is to be a minor guilt trip.
After you go to meet the "witches" in ivarstead, and do the karma neutral path of sparing them and returning to Altano, arguing with Altano leads to a fight that, according to the guide, should result in you blacking out. That didn't happen for me. I defeated Altano and he died, spawning an "Ugly One" enemy, which then also died. This lead to a "Karmu Up" message.
Carene then entered the room and berated me for killing her husband, started combat, then fell over after a couple hits, after which I was given the option to leave or end her. I did a quicksave just to see what would happen if I ended her, and the Lilian stuck me with a poison dart and I fell over and my game froze lol.
Reloading the quicksave, I left the room to spare Carene, and the game had me go back and report to Thorondir, which ended act one.
I've checked and double checked that both Vigilant and the voice-over pack are the most recently updated ones, so I can only assume that this is only an outcome that happens for characters that are high enough level that losing to Altano when he aggros just isn't a possibility. I don't know lol
What you got is an alternate resolution of act 1, which, like it or not, doesn't make nearly as much sense as the originally intended one (but I won't go into a whole essay here on why). Suffice to say that this path spares some players' feelings a bit more, but at the expense of the story.
It's entirely possible to still get the original path, however. Just lose the fight - IIRC, you have to be hit 3 times. And just in case this is beneath your character ... you're not losing to a normal Vigilant, nor any normal Daedra.
I just found it odd since there was a brief bit where I wasn't hearing voice lines anymore, lol. Loving the voice work, though. Great job :thumbs up:
Whenever one of the Soul-Shriven minibosses spawn, I'm getting a crash. It started with Radokhan Tharn outside of Marukh's priory, and now it's any and all of them, even ones I've fought before (spawned them in with the console in the QASmoke debug cell to test).
Re-installing didn't work when I had the same issue with the Altano/Ugly One boss - it just randomly stopped happening after stepping away from the game for a while.
I'm not sure what to do.
Every modder should learn to debug their own game. Just saying that you're getting CTDs isn't enough to solve the issue, and no one can investigate it for you without having your exact setup.
