About this mod
Distributes Rare Curios items in the world in a reasonable way with maximum compatibility and zero headaches, thanks to the power of Container Item Distributor (CID).

CC Rare Curios introduces nostalgic and powerful items into the world of Skyrim, however their distribution leaves much to be desired: while some items are sensibly placed in appropriate enemy loot or specific vendors, the main (and only, in most cases) providers of the new ingredients and stones are the Khajiit caravans. It's understandable considering that editing leveled lists and containers can easily produce conflicts, but we have Container Item Distrubutor, that allows us to add these items to all sorts of people and places without worrying about patches and load order. So, no more Khajiit monopoly!
This mod uses the power of CID to replace the distribution of the ingredients and the Varla and Welkynd Stones with its own, which is more contextualized and expansive.
Let's get to specifics. The distribution takes into account the geographic distance of their provenance from the place that they are added to, and their commercial network, as well as the capabilities of the place or the person.
A few examples:
- the Khajiit caravans travel a lot and trade with basically anyone, so they are likely to have ingredients coming from Cyrodiil, for the most part, and Morrowind, as well as a few from the planes of Oblivion, thanks to trades with various mages.
- the East Empire Company can easily provide Cyrodiilic ingredients for sale, but all the other items can be available, including the stones, thanks to their many trading routes. Meanwhile Angeline's Aromatics in Solitude could realistically only acquire ingredients coming from Cyrodiil and Morrowind, and very rarely from the planes of Oblivion.
- the College of Winterhold obviously sells all kinds of ingredients through the master alchemist Thelsa (with Obscure's College of Winterhold installed), and Enthir, who sells a few less ingredients than Thelsa but can provide Varla and Welkynd Stones too, thanks to his contacts.
Technically speaking, the mod works with two files:
- the ESP (yes, it's flagged as ESL) replaces the CC's injection into the Khajiit caravans' inventory with my own sublist that is tailored to them, and it provides the sublists of ingredients, grouped by provenance, and vendor sublists meant for specific places and vendors
- the INI file uses the framework provided by the ESP to implement most of the distribution, thanks to Container Item Distributor.
Installation
Make sure CC Rare Curios is installed and active, install the latest version of Container Item Distributor and make sure it's working, then simply add the plugin and the INI file to the Data folder, as usual. I suggest Mod Organizer 2: I've always used it and it's never failed me.
Compatibility
While technically this mod is compatibile with almost everything, using it alongside other mods that distribute Rare Curios items will result in an excess of such items in the world, therefore ruin the balance of your game, so be cautious about using such mods together.
The mod includes support for Obscure's College of Winterhold, Alternate Perspective and Environs - Riften Warehouse. No requirements.
Feel free to ask for support for other mods, I may be able to add them. By the way, you could also add to the INI file on your own using this mod's sublists!
