About this mod

The ultimate visual-design synergy patch for the awesome combo of JK's Skyrim, Dawn of Skyrim, Spaghetti's Solitude, and Blubbo's Solitude.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
IMPORTANT

These are ESLs, requiring a new save.  If you try to install this patch midgame without knowing what you're doing, you may mess up the meshes and FormIDs of the area, requiring extra troubleshooting and tons of potential problems.  Just save yourself the headache and only use this on a new save.

DESCRIPTION

Upon installing these amazing city overhaul mods simultaneously, I noticed a fair amount of clutter, trees intersecting with other objects, a messy garden after the archway, leaves/clovers a bit too far into the roads, etc.  And most of all: the blacksmith cage having duplicate gates and a blocked second entry from the overpass.  I love what each of these mods brings to the table but when trying to make them all play nicely, chaos ensues (as expected, lol).  That's how this patch came to be.

This initially started as a personal-use patch to simply make that blacksmith alternate entrance usable, but it grew into an entire design-synergy patch.  It mostly moves problematic trees/rocks, but I also had to make a few choices regarding the blacksmith and garden areas that ultimately resulted in a beautiful mashup of the overhauls.  I hope you enjoy the look.  I tried to keep any changes minimal in areas that really didn't need much tweaking in order to keep compatibility a reality.

CHANGES I MADE
(Check out the image gallery)

Front Gate & Walkway to Marketplace

  • Cleaned up tree clutter inside and around the guard post/shack thing.
  • Moved some trees, flowers, and minor foliage to clean the road up.
  • Moved a tree in the alleyway to look more natural.

Blacksmith, Marketplace, & Castle Dour Rampway

  • Removed the cage on the overpass, preserving a simple railing.
  • ^ This made the alternate entrance to the blacksmith usable after removing a wall piece.
  • Added a barrel and some moss to the alternate blacksmith entrance as a design choice.
  • Moved a flagrope pole to a different ledge to make walking up the ramp to the overpass more realisitc (was walking through the rope before).
  • Reattached that same flagrope to an already existing lantern-post in the marketplace.
  • Removed the problematic flagrope pole intersecting the little shack near the marketplace.
  • Moved a tree blocking AI pathing in the market and neatened up some grass/clover patches.
  • Rotated a cage behind a stall to look more natural.
  • Moved one of the old banners from the blacksmith cage to the rampway.
  • A flowerpot was inside the wall of the rampway, moved it to look nice by the banner.

Rows (leading from the big archway & Castle Dour to the Palace Arch and LOTD Museum area)

  • Completely redesigned the big garden, bringing only the most prominent features of each mod to light to reduce clutter.
  • Moved some grass/clover patches slightly to clean the road up.
  • Removed a dead tree in the cemetery which was intersecting with a live one.
  • Moved a tree from inside a roof to the little garden by the right road.
  • Moved the tree hanging over the road further into the garden, keeping that cool walk-under vibe but making it look cleaner.
  • Cleaned up that little garden slightly.
  • Redesigned the medium-sized garden before the last stretch of road to the palace, adding a nice little walkway where a bunch of rocks were simply piling up, adjusting a few trees to make it happen.
  • Tightened up the garden by the entrance to the LOTD Museum.
  • Cleaned up the gardens outside the palace archway.

Blue Palace - Archway, Path, Garden, and Front Face

  • Moved some trees.
  • Moved the big rockpile inside the arch outward a bit, preserving the construction of the archway.
  • Cleaned up the Blue Palace garden a bit (moved 2 trees to match depth of other side's tree)
  • Moved a banner on the front face of the Palace to the top level, in order to create space between itself and the flowing one at the bottom.

INSTALLATION

I made this as two separate main files originally because I thought I'd need to...
A little sloppy, but it's my first major patch project so
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

MO2 - Download BOTH main files with mod manager, merging the Blubbos Tweaks one with the first.  Activate.  Enjoy.

Vortex - Download BOTH main files with mod manager.  Idk how merging works but as long as the Blubbos file is overwriting the first file, you should be good.  Deploy as needed.  Enjoy.  (I'm not very familiar with Vortex, hopefully someone in Posts can help if I can't.)

Manual - You know what you're doing if you're going this route.  If you have questions feel free to ask in Posts.

UNINSTALLING - Requires new game most likely as they are ESLs.

LOAD ORDER

Just make sure this patch loads AFTER the JK's Skyrim - Dawn of Skyrim patch from the requirements secti
on.
LOOT should automatically handle the rest.  If you manually order, just load after all of the requirements.

NOTE: If you use things like assorted mesh fixes, dlizzio's mesh fixes, or anything similar, be mindful of where they reside in your installation order (left panel in MO2), as this patch may remove a few of the added fixes as they are no longer needed in Solitude.  I don't remember exactly which meshes this pertained to, but if you have any issues with meshes just let me know in Posts.
