Description of Rorikstead House

Add a house to Rorikstead. A property with a bath and toilet.
This house is designed for 6 housemates and their families (partner and 6 adopted children) to live together.
Bath supplies are sold by Riverwood Trader merchants.
There is a horse in the garden, so let's ride it to Riverwood Trader to buy bath supplies.

If you save and load once after installing this MOD, you can have up to 6 followers living in your house. This habitation feature only works for humanoid Followers. The habitation function does not work for animals such as Meeko and stray dogs. We do not plan to support the migration function of animals in the future. Please use "My Home is Your Home" for migration including Meeko. Use "Hearthfire Multiple Adoption" to relocate your family.

As with all moddings, in order to deal with unexpected problems, please back up the save data before installing this mod so that you can always restore it before installing the mod.

It was created with Creation Kit 1.6.438. The placement objects only use materials up to Skyrim Version 1.5.97, so they should work with Skyrim Version 1.5.97.

Conflicting mods: Mods that add houses or objects to the same location. (coordinates are -20,0 and -20,1)

Conflicting mods:
It is not compatible with "Rorikstead Wagons" because the areas being edited overlap.
The location of the abandoned house added to Rorikstead in "The Great Cities" is the same as the exterior of Rorikstead House.
The location of the gate wall added to Rorikstead in "JK's Skyrim" is the same as the exterior of Rorikstead House.
We have prepared patches to resolve conflicts that occur when using "The Great Cities" or "JK's Skyrim" together with Rorikstead House.
Please use the patch if you use "The Great Cities" or "JK's Skyrim" and Rorikstead House together.

If used in conjunction with other MODs that modify Rorikstead, depending on the contents of the MOD, the appearance of Rorikstead House and the ability to enter and exit the house may be affected.

Frostfruit Inn has designated tea hours (3pm to 4pm).
When used in conjunction with a mod that renovates the Frostfruit Inn, housemates may become stuck in the Frostfruit Inn if the mod that renovates the Frostfruit Inn does not properly edit the Navmesh.

Installation
here is no specified installation timing. There is no particular load order. I think it will be easier to manage if you put it in the same row as other house MODs.

Uninstallation
When uninstalling this mod, please cancel all the residents' residence settings first, send it to the original location, and then uninstall it.

When uninstalling, please uninstall with save data in the following states: ``The status increase effect added by this MOD has expired'' or ``You do not own any items added by this MOD.''

There are mainly three types of conditions for the status increase effect that occurs with this MOD.

  • Washing your hands, brushing your teeth, using the toilet, washing your body, and using the bath will temporarily increase your status.
  • If you are equipped with an item (weapon or armor) added by this MOD that has a status increase effect.
  • If you use items (food or potions) added with this MOD that have a status-increasing effect.

If you uninstall this MOD with save data in which the status increase effect generated by this MOD is enabled, the status increase effect may remain. Please remove additional items from your equipment and save in a state where you do not own any additional items before uninstalling this MOD. If the additional item has a magic effect, only the magic effect may remain after uninstalling this MOD, and the magic effect may not be removed.

There is a secret passage in the main character's bedroom.
There is a switch on the small table to the right of the fireplace.
The secret passageway in the protagonist's bedroom is a secret passageway that leads to the Daedric artifact's room.

There is also a hidden passage near the entrance to the child's room.
Press the switch on the wall to open the passage to the mannequin room.
For those who don't like mannequins, a mannequin is placed at the end of a hidden passage. (You can also say that the mannequin is confined)

About the effect of wash basin and bath:
By washing your hands, brushing your teeth, using the toilet, washing your body, and entering the bath, you will be temporarily granted the buff effect of raising your status.

There is an NPC automatic undressing function in the bath and toilet. Undressing will be released after a certain period of time.
If undressing doesn't work, remove Bath Cloth and Restroom Cloth from your NPC's equipment.
In addition, it seems that some NPCs have their automatic undressing function disabled.
NPCs with the ability to "neutralize magic" have no effect and remain dressed.
Also, the undressing NPC's torso may not be visible, but it can be restored by removing the Bath Cloth and Restroom Cloth.

Update regarding NPC undressing function (September 1, 2024)

I've implemented a "NPCs don't undress" button to prevent NPCs from undressing in baths and toilets. You'll find this button on the opposite side of the toilet in the entrance hall.

This button disables undressing for NPCs in the large communal bath (on the left side of the bathhouse) and all four toilets.

You can enable or disable undressing for NPCs in the "Golden Bath Tub" and the "Stone Bath Tub" directly in front of the bathhouse by opening or closing the valve in the underground forge. These two bath tubs have their water supply, NPC undressing chairs, and undressing function linked to the forge valve, so they cannot be controlled by the new switch in the entrance hall. (This is due to a limitation in the game engine that prevents a single object from being linked to multiple buttons.)

Even if you see NPCs using the toilets and baths while fully clothed after activating the "NPCs don't undress" button, please imagine that they are actually undressing.

There's a separate "NPCs don't undress" button specifically for the outdoor bath, located near the outdoor bath itself.

When the "NPC will not strip" button is enabled, a light blue lamp will appear near the button.

Outdoor facilities: stables, fields, chicken coops, wells, wood chopping tables, hanging chairs,
Slide (with or without a roof can be switched with a lever)

About the well in the garden:
You can get water from the garden well. You can draw water again after respawn as you would a crop. There is a barrel with water, but this barrel respawns unlike indoor storage.

About Garden stables:
Name: Sleipnir and Alsvid
Horses have an Essential attribute and a Respawn setting.
Even if you lose it, it will return to the initial position with the Respawn setting.
If you can't ride a horse, you can try it again after seeing the Loading Screens on Fast Travel.
Once you get on this horse and then get off, you will be accompanied by the designated destination of Fast Travel. Fast travel to this house from another location while you are off the horse and you will be returned to the stable.
Sleipnir will wait on the spot when you get off your back. Alsvid will return to the stable from the spot when you get off your back. Please use the one you like.

Follower added to Riverwood Trader
Follower's name is Lyle Valerius.
Lyle Valerius is a merchant who can accompany you on your journey.
If she is not at the Riverwood Trader she is at the Sleeping Giant Inn.

The reason why Lyle is in Riverwood instead of Rorikstead is because ``I wanted to be able to take her to Rorikstead as an escort.''

Known bugs/issues

About bath water supply: There is a valve in the underground forge. This valve can switch the hot water in the bathtub (golden bathtub) on the upper floor of the forge.
Note: Switching valves continuously will put a load on the game and may cause the game to crash.
Hot water in large bathtubs other than golden bathtubs is not subject to hot water switching using the valve.

There is a part of the underground forge that is judged to be underwater (where the player swims),
This is because the "underwater detection" of the large bath on the upper floor extends all the way to the basement. Please be careful not to drown.

If your housemate is hanging around without clothes

If your housemate is wandering around without clothes, please take a bath cloth or restroom cloth from their belongings.

How to take equipment from housemates: Hire them as a Follower and take them away from their equipment, or use a mod that changes NPCs' clothes.

Regarding the phenomenon where skin appears on armor in the Daedric artifact room.

The Daedric artifact room is decorated with Ebony Mail and Savior's Hide hanging from hangers.

If you are using a female body MOD such as CBBE, limbs will grow on the female armor model (Savior's Hide) hanging from the hanger. This is not a glitch because the armor model is displayed with limb models that have been replaced by body mods such as CBBE. Rather, if it is not displayed, it means that you have failed to install a body MOD such as CBBE.

Question and Answer (Possible question)
Question 1: I want to move my family, but this house is not an option for me to move to.

Answer: "Hearthfire Multiple Adoption" is required to move family members such as spouses and adopted children. Visit this house after installing ``Hearthfire Multiple Adoption'' and cast the spell ``Bless Home'' inside the house to move your spouse or adopted child into this house.

Question 2: Another building overlaps the Rorikstead House building and it looks strange. I can't get into the house because I can't access the front door of Rorikstead House.

Answer: Are you using Rorikstead House in conjunction with a MOD that modifies Rorikstead, such as "The Great Cities" or "JK's Skyrim"? If you use a MOD that modifies Rorikstead and Rorikstead House at the same time, if the location edited in MOOD is the same, the objects added by other MODs that modify Rorikstead will be displayed overlapping at the entrance to the building of Rorikstead House.

We have prepared patches to resolve conflicts that occur when using Rorikstead House with "The Great Cities" or "JK's Skyrim".
If you want to use "The Great Cities" or "JK's Skyrim" together with Rorikstead House, please also use the patch.
If you are using an "unpatched MOD" other than "The Great Cities" or "JK's Skyrim" and the entrance to Rorikstead House and the stables are completely unusable, please make sure to only use either the "unpatched MOD" or "Rorikstead House".

Question 3: My housemate remains undressed/The area from the neck down becomes transparent when undressing.

Answer: If the housemate correctly passes through the "transparent box that activates the magic that restores clothes", the clothes will be returned to normal. A "transparent box that activates the magic of returning clothes to their original state" is placed at the entrance to the bath and toilet. Housemates may remain undressed if they do not follow the entrance/exit route to the bath or toilet. It can be fixed by having your housemate go through a passage with a transparent box and using magic to restore it, or by taking the undressing equipment from your housemate's item column. Transparency from the neck down seems to occur when a processing error occurs, such as when the undressing magic is applied before the undressing magic is completed. There is no way to prevent it from becoming transparent from the neck down. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please take the undressing equipment from the housemate's item column and have the housemate put back on their original clothes.

Question 4: My housemate is standing still and not moving.

Answer: Sometimes housemates just stop and stare. It will resume its activities after a while, so think of it as a short break. An example of housemates stopping is when multiple housemates stop in the same place when competing for the same piece of furniture (such as a chair).

Question 5: I cannot specify the single bed in the loft or the guest room on the first floor as my housemate's bed. Why?

Answer: The single bed in the loft is the bed I use when I get sleepy after reading, so I don't have a designated housemate.
The double bed in the guest room on the first floor is currently a bed for NPCs other than housemates (Followers who are accompanying you) to stay.

Features that will never be implemented due to technical issues
There are no plans to support the implementation of animal migration functionality in the future.

Special Thanks
I used UniSL's "Dweller Slot" for Follower's living system. Thanks to UniSL.

Explanation of the Housemate function.

  • Save and load after installing MOD. If you don't go through this procedure, you won't be able to invite your housemates
  • Bring the Follower indoors in this house.
  • The option "[Home] Would you live in this house?" will be displayed in the conversation with Follower. Select dweller slots from [1] to [6].

If you allocate a dweller slot and then un-employ the follower, the former follower will start living in this house as a housemate.

When you want to replace a resident, bring the follower you want to replace to this house and have the "[Home] Would you live in this house?" dialogue select the dweller slot of the housemate you want to replace.

Note and request: Essential attribute (non-dying attribute) will be given while staying, but it will return to the initial setting after unlocking the dweller slot. If you bring a Follower without the Essential attribute, hire him as a Follower after unlocking the dweller slot and bring him to a safe place.

When uninstalling this MOD, please cancel all the residents' settings first, take them to the place where the residents were first, and then uninstall this MOD.

By using other mods together, it is possible to migrate "NPCs that cannot be made friends normally", but it is recommended to migrate NPCs related to the progress of the quest after the quest is completed. . If you migrate NPCs related to quest progress in the middle of the quest, the quest may not be able to progress.

Also, if you "temporarily make a hostile NPC that has been tranquillized" migrate as a Housemate, it may attack surrounding NPCs and players after the sedation is released, so please be careful.

This will be a repeated warning, but if you bring NPCs involved in the quest progress to this house, please bring them to this house after the quest is over. If you make "NPC involved in quest progress" a housemate in the middle of the quest, the quest may not progress.

Serana's associated quest (Dawnguard) has higher priority than the Dweller Slot system, so Serana cannot be set as a housemate until Dawnguard is completed. Please finish all of Serana's related Dawnguard quests before making Serana your housemate.

A description of the cohabitant's living quarters area

Housemates will have a large room in the basement as their bedroom.

Housemates sleep in designated beds for 8 hours from 10:00pm to 6:00am. However, if your housemate's sleep start time is earlier than 10:00 p.m., they may sleep in a different bed.
Even if your housemates are sleeping in a bed other than the designated bed, they will wake up once at 22:00 when sleep starts and go to their designated bed.

Places housemate mainly visits: indoors and outdoors.

Ownership is not set for the bed in the housemate's living quarters.

If a Follower who is accompanying the player sleeps in a housemate's bed, the freeloader will not be able to sleep because there is no place to sleep.

housemate schedule
  • Breakfast is served at the dining room from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • Lunch is served at the cafeteria from noon to 1:00 p.m.
  • Tea time is from 3:00pm at Frostfruit Inn to 4:00pm
  • Dinner is served in the dining room from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
  • Tea time before going to bed is from 9:00pm to 10:00pm at the dining room.
  • I sleep from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am
  • Residents are free to move indoors and outdoors except when eating and sleeping.
