"Enhanced Wards Overhaul" offers a novel approach to defensive magic in Skyrim. Instead of traditional mana consumption, wards now mitigate incoming spell damage by directly impacting your mana reserves. For instance, casting a 'Lesser Ward' might reduce mana damage from lower-tier spells, while higher-tier 'Greater Wards' provide almost complete immunity against weaker spells. This reimagined system encourages strategic use of wards, balancing spell absorption with mana preservation based on spell tiers and your skill level in restoration magic. Master the art of warding and redefine defensive strategies in the world of Skyrim!

Features:
  • Dynamic Mana Damage: Wards no longer absorb spells passively. Instead, they actively impose mana damage on the caster when struck by hostile spells.
  • Tiered Ward Effects: Different ward tiers (Lesser, Steadfast, Greater) vary in their effectiveness.
How It Works:
When a hostile spell impacts a ward:
  • The ward’s magic effect triggers based on its tier (Lesser, Steadfast, or Greater).
  • The caster of the ward incurs mana damage corresponding to the spell’s tier.
  • This mana damage is deducted directly from the caster’s Magicka pool, introducing a tactical consideration of mana conservation and spell choice in combat.

Example Mana Damage Values (for illustration):
  • Lesser Ward:
    • Low-tier spells (e.g., Novice level): 5% of the spell's base magicka cost as damage.
    • Mid-tier spells (e.g., Apprentice level): 10% of the spell's base magicka cost as damage.
    • High-tier spells (e.g., Adept and above): 15% of the spell's base magicka cost as damage.
  • Steadfast Ward:
    • Low-tier spells: 3% of the spell's base magicka cost as damage.
    • Mid-tier spells: 7% of the spell's base magicka cost as damage.
    • High-tier spells: 10% of the spell's base magicka cost as damage.
  • Greater Ward:
    • Low-tier spells: 1% of the spell's base magicka cost as damage.
    • Mid-tier spells: 3% of the spell's base magicka cost as damage.
    • High-tier spells: 5% of the spell's base magicka cost as damage.
