An overhaul project of the lonely inn nestled in the mountainside outside of Dawnstar. What many may not know is that this inn was once surrounded intended to be surrounded by the village of Heljarchen, before it was cut due to time restraints. This mod revives that village, and the inn itself, utilising a unique tile set, and including a trader, blacksmith and apothecary for your convenience.
This mod was born when I had two realisations. The first: that no mod, other then CRF which comes packaged with a heap of other stuff you might not want, restores Heljarchen by itself. The second: that CotN - Winterhold is often eclipsed by TGCO Winterhold. It all comes to personal opinion of course, but where most towns I would use a patch of both, TGCO is so much more fitting for Winterhold then CotN that I personally never use it. This essentially leaves the assets (themselves amazing just not suited for Winterhold imo) unused. This is my attempt to put them to good use.

The greatest of the long ships became the village chieftain's home, who would take travellers passing the village as his personal guest. Eventually it would become an Inn, and the village would become Heljarchen. Despite it's rural and dangerous surroundings, the village thrived off its location, as the crossroads between Whiterun, Dawnstar, Winterhold and Windhelm. The village survives off the money the Nightgate Inn generates from the many travellers that stay there, but a trading outpost also generates wealth by storing cargo as it moves between the bigger cities. A small farm keeps the villagers fed, and its strategic position surrounded by mountains protects it from bandits. Altogether the village manages to survive, although it has never grown beyond anything but a village.
~ Features ~

Anything that touches the Nightgate Inn or the surrounding exterior will not be compatible. I will try and roll out some patches for the mods I use in the days following 1.0 release, but if you end up making any patches feel completely free to send them over and I'll put them on the mod page with credit. Or you can post them on your own modpage, I don't mind. The quests at the inn are untouched (aside from moving the markers a bit) so any mods that touch those should be fine as long as this is loaded after. You will have to start a new game for this mod to work as intended. LODs are not included, so I recommend you use DynDOLOD.
I've tested a good deal and haven't found any major issues. The only minor problem I've encountered is NPCs ignoring my navmesh sometimes and having trouble pathfinding. I'm fairly sure the navmesh itself is fine, so I charted this up to general Skyrim jank, but this is my first mod so it's possible I did something wrong. If anyone wants to go in and and check I would really appreciate it. If you encounter any problems, and know how to fix it, please treat it like a teaching moment and show me what I did wrong.

~ Future ~
Since this is my first mod, I intend on learning how to make quests and adding a couple to this mod, as well as a dungeon or two, just because I can. I would also like to add voice acting, but I just want to get the mod out of the oven for now. Past that and the patches, I will consider this mod complete.
This is best combined with TGCO Winterhold and a mod that patches the castle from CotN - Winterhold onto it, since that's the only asset I haven't used.
Thanks again to JPSteel2 for the assets!
