Provides an alternative way to get your hands on the Mace of Molag Bal if you solve the House of Horrors quest in non-vanilla ways, or avoid it completely for moral reasons.
Can be installed or uninstalled at any time.
Inspired by Fe4therstone's Lootable Mace of Molag Bal, I use powerofthree's Spell Perk Item Distributor (SPID) and Zzyxzz's SkyPatcher to put the Mace of Molag Bal in Lord Harkon's inventory to avoid conflicts with other mods that edit Lord Harkon.
As Fe4therstone mentions in the description of his mod, it could be argued that Lord Harkon having the mace is plausible if you care about that sort of thing. You could probably edit the file to put the weapon on some appropriate VIGILANT boss if that is more to your liking.
Tested for:
SPID 7.1.3
SkyPatcher 3.11.0
Skyrim 1.5.97, but it should still work in newer Skyrim versions if the required mods work.
Details:
This mod adds a SPID file with the following content:
Item = DA10MaceofMolagBal|DLC1Harkon
and an equivalent SkyPatcher file with the following content:filterByNpcs=DLC1Harkon:addOnceToInventory=DA10MaceofMolagBal~1
which basically says:
"Put the object with editor id DA10MaceofMolagBal (Mace of Molag Bal) into the inventory of the npc with editor id DLC1Harkon (Lord Harkon)",
so unless any of those editor ids gets changed, it should work for any future versions of SPID or SkyPatcher.
Compatibility:
Seems to work with mods that edit either record with the editor ids above. I can confirm that Reliquary of Myth's version of the mace is found on an edited version of Lord Harkon, so there should be no issue with other mods.
Note:
I have not yet tested this in actual game progression, but I did spawn Lord Harkon on me and killed him, in which case he had the mace on him. I'll remove this part if someone can confirm that it works in the quest, or when I test it in my upcoming playthrough.
