This is a mod I made for personal use and I'm sharing it today with you guys. Basically it's a remix of several other modders' assets that, as per their mod pages, can be freely used for other mods (with proper credit of course!).

Based upon the design of the Ebony Plate armor added by the Creation Club, this set is instead made of good old steel plating. That was made possible by making several adjustments to xavbio's excellent Ebony Plate - Black and Silver - textures added by his Ebony Armors and Weapons Retexture SE mod, with the help of the masks he kindly uploaded as a modder's resource to his mod's page. It also uses the full pauldron meshes from Dragoon23's Symmetric Ebony Plate Armor Replacers, because I think it's cooler that way. The textures are deliberately modified to look more realistic and less regal than the Ebony Plate armor it's based on. The decorative golden details have long chipped off the plates, leaving the metal bare, after protecting its wearer from countless battles and the inclement Skyrim weather. The gambeson's color is now Pantone's Medieval Blue (PMS 19-3933 TPG, HEX: 3F425C) and the leather parts are just regular brown. The plates - dulled constantly by heavy use - still retain some shine to them, and depending on the cubemap you use, it might look better or worse than the screenshot. By the way, for the screenshot, I'm using fadingsignal's cubemaps from his Custom Cubemaps (and Metal Tutorial) mod, you should definitely try them out.

Stats wise, I made this armor to be as strong - and convenient - by this game's standards. That means, the armor rating and value are identical to the best unenchanted regular heavy armor available in Skyrim SE with CC content included (depending on the piece, either the Madness Armor or the Ebony Spell Knight Armor), and the weight is identical to the lightest overall unenchanted regular heavy armor set (currently Iron Armor). So yeah, it's kinda an OP set but hey, it's 2024, and I'm sure there are many gamers tired of grinding until level 48 to just start getting the chance to loot Daedric Armor from some chest somewhere. That said, you'll still have to work a bit to get it. It can be crafted when you get the Advanced Armors perk, and its recipe is a slightly modified formula from the regular Steel Plate Armor - just replace corrundum ingots with quicksilver ingots. It can also be tempered with steel ingots.

As an added thing, I've also included a CBBE - BodySlide optional file for this mod. It's a modified, symmetrical version of VariableFae's Practical Alternative Female Armors CBBE for the Ebony Plate armor, itself based on DamnApple's Practical Female Ebony Plate Armor. For users of CBBE who want to see their character's T&A somewhat well reflected on the armor they're wearing.

As per Bethesda's legal rules regarding the CC content, this mod requires the Alternative Armors - Ebony Plate CC addon to be installed.

To install, use MO2, Vortex, or manually add the files into the game.

Credit goes to all the modders and their mods listed above.
