About this mod

Three semi-balanced recipes for crafting Dawnguard's Potions of Blood (or Blood Potions).

*WHY*
I have recently started yet another Skyrim playthrough wherein I have chosen to play as a Vampire for the most part of it. Included in this run are mods like Better Vampires and Sacrosanct, wherein Vampires are overhauled and made more viable. However, one thing remains elusive: viable feeding options (at least for someone who wants to play the good guy and can't find any sleeping bandits). To combat this, I got one of the existing blood potion crafting mods (Blood Potions Crafting) and felt it was good enough. However, I also decided to install Hearts and Flesh for All (SPID) and realized I had far too many hearts and bits of human flesh, making any difficulty in crafting the potions non-existent.

To find a balance between blood potions being a viable alternative to typical feeding and yet not being too easy at the same time, I decided to create my own recipes that I felt were a bit more balanced.

NOTE: I highly recommend Hearts and Flesh for All (SPID) as my mod's balance was made with that mod installed and in mind.

*RECIPES*
There are three crafting tiers which each use different ingredients but result in more potions at once. The wheat, lavender, and tundra cotton represent the non-feeding effects of the potion (fortify health, etc.).

Tier 1 (x1 Potion of Blood):
  • x1 Human Heart
  • x1 Human Flesh
  • x1 Nirnroot
  • x1 Wheat
  • x1 Lavender
  • x1 Tundra Cotton

Tier 2 (x2 Potion of Blood):
  • x1 Briar Heart
  • x1 Taproot
  • x1 Crimson Nirnroot
  • x2 Wheat
  • x2 Lavender
  • x2 Tundra Cotton

Tier 3 (x3 Potion of Blood):
  • x1 Daedra Heart
  • x1 Human Flesh
  • x1 Crimson Nirnroot
  • x3 Wheat
  • x3 Lavender
  • x3 Tundra Cotton

*COMPATIBILITY*
This mod doesn't make any changes to existing files, it just adds three simple recipes that pull vanilla/DLC item ids; therefore, it should be compatible with everything. Only thing that could potentially break this mod is if another mod removes those items or changes their ids somehow. Obviously, the Dawnguard DLC is a requirement.
