About this mod

Remastered and now flagged ESL, absorb dragon souls with a valiant shout and epic build music followed by a cinematic explosion of power. Everything is customizable - vocals can be male, female, or just instrumental. This mod is universally compatible, can be easily installed on new or existing saves.

This is a remaster of my original mod "Cinematic Dragon Soul Absorption." As with the original mod with this mod installed when you absorb a dragon soul thematic music will play and the player will perform a animation,  leading up to a explosive effect. Everything is customizable and you will be able to choose from male and female vocals or no vocals if you would like. Build music leading up to the animations can be selected or not selected as well.

*Additionally your default master level destruction spell animation will be the animation that plays while you absorb a dragon soul. This means this mod will benefit from any animation replacer that you want to use meaning this mod will work with and benefit from every single spell animation mod on nexus out of the box. Additionally, I have also provided a few spell animation replacers of my own that you can choose from which include a kneeling animation and a floating animation.
You do Not need to run FINIS or Nemesis for this mod to work either. This mod only requires Skyrim that's it.

Compared to the original mod this mod has the following:
  • All of the form IDs  have been compressed and the mod itself is flagged ESL.
  • As with the original mod this mod is highly compatible and will not have any conflicts outside of mods overwriting the audio.
  • I have renamed every .esp offered in the mod file to reflect the new version of the mod.
  • This version of the mod now includes two new male shouts that were not previously included in the main file of the original mod.
  • A number of animation choices that were more rigged and made less sense in the original mod have have been removed.
  • I have updated the mod so that high quality mixed instrumental endings following the absorption of a dragon soul is the default.
  • I re-reviewed the ESP's and cleaned out vestigial edits that no longer were needed making the mod file lighter.
  • I have rebuilt the FOMOD from scratch and streamlined the installation process.
  • As with the previous version your default master level destruction spell animation will be the animation that plays while you absorb a dragon soul. This means this mod will benefit from any animation replacer that you want to use meaning this mod will work with and benefit from every single spell animation mod on nexus out of the box. Additionally, I have also provided a few spell animation replacers of my own that you can choose from



Non-Scripted Version:
The non-scripted version puts all of the control into the player's hand. Animations for the non-scripted version are triggered
manually by the player. This version is also compatible with VR. Details on the non-scripted version and how to trigger the animations are found below:
  • This version has no scripts and can be installed, uninstalled, and/or customized at any time on a new or existing save without problems.
  • To trigger the animations, you must equip the spell and use it as you would any other spell. Like other spells, it can be canceled at anytime. As a result, you - the player - have complete control over what happens at every second.  
  • The aforementioned spell is available at the Riverwood trader. Lucan collects ancient artifacts such as the gold claw and has recently stumbled upon an old spell tome called Meditations of the Dovahkiin. Only the Dovakhiin can use this tome, so it sits in his shop collecting dust. You must acquire this spell to perform the animations


Scripted Version:
Once the scripted version of this mod is installed a hidden spell will be added to the player at the start of the game. No action is required and animations will begin to trigger right away after slaying a dragon. This version is NOT compatible with VR. Please see the following rules that must be met for animations to trigger:
  • You must hit or be hit by the dragon at least once before it dies. If you do not hit the dragon, the script will not start.
  • If you are attacked during the animation, the script will cancel automatically. This is to prevent you from dying while you are performing animations during soul absorption.
  • If you save while you're absorbing a dragon soul, the timing of the animation may seem off if you load that save later.
  • If you have a sword or bow drawn, the script will automatically make you put it away before starting the animations.
  • Dragons killed by Miraak will not trigger animations. 
  • This script is standalone, which means that it does not impact any vanilla script and will not corrupt the game in any way. Please note that all scripted versions can be swapped with one another at anytime during your game.

  • Only Skyrim is Required (Any Version)
  • You do NOT need to run FINIS or Nemesis for this mod to work this mod will work out of the box nothing else required




  • There are no issues with this mod. That stated if you kill a dragon while in Vampire Lord or Werewolf form, the epic build music and scream (if you chose to play one) will still play and may seem slightly out of place if you kill a dragon while in that form. Animations however will not trigger while you are in those forms.
